Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 345

Jim glared at her coldly while his expression remained gloomy.

"Do you think that if you say that, I’d believe you? Do you think the grudges between you and Nell can be undone with a simple apology?

“How many times have I told you to be honest and not cause trouble for me? You just disregard my words, don’t you?"

While Celine was being reprimanded, no matter how good her temperament was, she could not help but get angry.

She bit her lip in dissatisfaction as she said, "Even if I offend her, what can she do to me? I don't believe that she’d dare to risk telling the truth and make the Old Master fall ill again! If that's the case, if anything happens to the Old Master, she will be the black sheep of the Garrett family. By then, let alone the Garrett family, the Leith family will have a strong opinion on her."

Not expecting her to burst out like that, Jim was speechless for a while.

As he looked at her again, he could not help but be a little more vigilant.

"I’m warning you. Don’t think that you can do what you wish just by having this dependence. Our goal isn’t Nell. If it’s delayed because of your stubbornness, I won’t let you off so easily."

When Celine heard his words, she could not help but shudder.

She looked down and said warmly, "Uncle, don't worry. I won't delay things, but I'm a little worried. Will anyone be jealous of me and say something to Grandpa? If it’s just a tattle-tale, I'm not afraid, but if there are any more, Grandpa will inevitably be suspicious. What should I do then?"

Jim gave her a sneer.

"What are you afraid of? The worst-case scenario is that you’d have to do a paternity test. You are the child of our Garrett family. What do you need to be afraid of?"

As he spoke, his tone suddenly became cold, and his eyes were full of mockery as if they were pure ice. Celine could not help but shiver.

She quickly bowed her head and said respectfully, "Yes, I understand."

With that, Jim turned around and left.

Celine breathed a sigh of relief as she twirled her hair. She was about to turn back and walk towards the garden.

However, at this moment, there was a sudden "click".

She was taken aback for a moment, and then her expression changed drastically.

"Who is it?"

The front was pitch black, and with the moonlight and the lights weaving about, it shone on a few tall flowers and trees in the corner. It all looked very fascinating.

Yet a shadow was reflected in the corridor behind the marble pillars, and there was silence all around.

Celine's heart pounded wildly.

Her face was slightly pale. She glanced around to make sure that there was no one around before she cautiously walked to where the sound had just come from.

After walking past the area, she realized that there was indeed no one under the bush.

Although it was a tall bush, it had a thick canopy and the branches below it were no more than waist height. If a normal person wanted to hide here, they had to crouch and it was impossible to have escaped so quickly.

Could she have seen it wrong?

Celine secretly breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that maybe it was the wild cats around or the sound of the wind blowing onto the small pebbles from the flower pots!

As her heart eased and she was about to leave, she suddenly kicked something.

For a moment, Celine was stunned. Then, she stepped back and saw a pink Peppa Pig hairpin lying on the grass.

She bent over to pick up the hairpin with a slight frown.
