This hoo-ha soon died down once it was resolved.
Suzy was fired and naturally, the filming of the show could no longer be completed in time.
The third female lead had to be replaced and because casting took time, the schedule could not be confirmed yet.
Feeling anxious about this matter, Lucy frowned.
Nevertheless, she hardly had time to think about this as Joel took her away as soon as this issue was settled.
When Joel led her away, everybody noticed the fiery wrath in his eyes and Lucy felt that she was about to be engulfed in the flames.
However, the man held a tight grip on her arm that she could not break free.
By the time they were in the car, Lucy broke free from his grasp while panting. She asked irritably, “What’s the meaning of this?”
Joel scoffed and commanded the chauffeur, “Drive to the hospital.”
Lucy was stunned.
“Why the hospital? My arm is bandaged and it’s just a small wound.”
Yet, no one listened to her. After a while, the chauffeur had brought them to a private hospital in the vicinity.
With that, Joel dragged Lucy out of the car and sent her to the doctor.
“Check the wound on her arm and give her a tetanus shot.”
The hospital was owned by the Fosters, so the doctor recognized Joel.
As soon as he heard Joel’s orders, he nodded his head. “Yes, Second Young Master. Don’t worry, I’ll bring her in now.”
Then, he led Lucy away.
Before Lucy could react, she was taken into a room and made to sit down on a chair.
Following that, two doctors removed the bandage on her arm swiftly and reapplied medicine on the wound while a nurse got a tetanus shot ready.
The petite Lucy sat still in the center of the room while the medical staff fussed about her. For the first time in her life, she realized that she had been cast into the spotlight.
However, she found this place to be somewhat bizarre.
Lucy was a bit puzzled. She looked at Joel, who was leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed, and chuckled. “I just think you’re overreacting. It isn’t that serious and there’s no need for a tetanus shot. Besides, the doctor at the film set has treated my wound. Aren’t you asking for trouble by having it treated again?”
Joel smiled coldly. “Stop flattering yourself. I was just being ethical and I’m worried that your arm will be messed up, that’s why I got the staff to examine you again.”
‘After all, I don’t know how competent the doctor at the film set is. Things will get even more complicated if he’s incompetent.’
Nonetheless, he did not reveal this thought to Lucy.
With a sigh, Lucy allowed the medical staff to treat her.
Half an hour later, the work was done. She asked the doctor, “How is it? Am I ok?”
The doctor grinned. “Everything’s fine, Miss. Although the wound looks serious, it’s just a flesh wound. Make sure it doesn’t come into contact with water for these few days and have a good rest.”
Lucy nodded.
Then, she turned towards the man at the doorway and gave him a “told you I’m fine” look.
Joel turned his head aside, ignoring her.
Unbeknownst to Lucy, he was berating her in silence.
‘Stupid woman, you don’t know what’s best for you!’
Very soon, Lucy’s wound had been re-examined and treated once more. She massaged her arm as she stood up and thought to herself, ‘Joel might be a bit rough around the edges, but he has a heart of gold.’
At least, he cared for her.
She sensed a warm, fuzzy feeling in her heart. However, at the same time, he dragged her to the payment counter.
“Pay up.”
“What?”
Lucy was surprised.
