Gideon paused in his movements.
He leveled his gaze with hers.
“You two are close?” he asked in a serious tone.
Nell was puzzled by Gideon’s question. Then she recalled that one time this man got jealous of Gregory Graham and grinned knowingly.
“Nope. Not close at all.”
“Didn’t he save you?” Gideon asked calmly.
“Hmm… That is true, but he also used me for his own gains.” Nell chuckled. “Who would’ve known I would be so good at racing?”
Nell laughed awkwardly, knowing full well that they should not pursue this conversation any longer.
She glanced at a remodeled car parked not far from them. “There’s a car right there. Let me see if it’s still working. We can have some fun if it does,” she said as she walked toward the car.
It was probably because they were in such a hurry to move that they left so many things behind, including numerous cars.
This area was pretty desolate, and everyone knew that it belonged to Dragon Regiment. That was why everything was left as it was. Nothing seemed to have been stolen.
Nell pried open the car door effortlessly. She checked the inside of the car once and found that, to her surprise, this remodeled race car had not been abandoned long enough to render it obsolete.
She fixed a few broken parts of the car herself, got in, and started it up.
A thunderous rumbling sound emitted from the engine, and a joyful smile appeared on Nell’s face. She turned and waved at Gideon, who was sitting in a wheelchair.
“Let’s go to the back of the hill. You can watch me drive around the circuit once.”
Gideon made no objections. He had never seen Nell race before, but he knew that she was an expert in the sport, and she had always known where her limits were.
Nell was basically suffocating due to the long hours spent back at home. It was a good thing that she was able to take this opportunity to relax.
Everyone walked to the race tracks at the back of the hill.
Nell let the car run for a while, then she put on a helmet. She threw a flamboyant glance at the three people standing right by the tracks and stepped on the gas pedal.
The car sped off with a rumble, like an arrow darting straight from its bow.
Nell had trained with Dragon Regiment’s racing club for years, so her skills were undoubtedly exceptional.
She had been coaching Gareth’s race team per his request ever since she defeated him in a competition.
This was a secret between her and Gareth. He did not tell anyone about this secret even when he was told that Nell was going to marry Gideon.
If anyone knew about this, they would see that Gareth truly admired and respected her as a person.
The blue race car sped along the spacious race tracks so fast that it could only be captured by the eyes in a straight line. The insane speed with which it traveled was exhilarating and fascinating to watch.
The race tracks were wide, and they stretched from one side of the hill to the other.
It could be said that Dragon Regiment bought the entire hill just to make training easier.
Nell circled the circuit on the outermost track once before feeling somewhat satisfied.
After a beautiful attempt at drifting, the car stopped right in front of Gideon and the others.
The woman got out of the car and took off her helmet in a flourish, and her slightly curled brown hair flipped into the air in a gorgeous arc. Her red lips were curved into a smile while her eyes glimmered.
