Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 470

Black in the face, Gideon was about to push her away when there came a woman’s cry in surprise from the bedroom.

“What are you doing?”

...

Five minutes later, in the living room on the ground floor.

Nell sat on the sofa and Gideon joined her with an ashen look on his face while on the opposite stood a very distraught Helen.

Aunt Joyce came running from the backyard. She did not know what was going on in the beginning but after the maids in the house had filled her in, her face turned grimace.

A maid served tea in humble reverence. Nell held the cup up and took a small sip before leisurely saying, “Speak then! What’s going on?”

She was taking a nap and was barely in slumberland when she somehow heard noises on the outside.

Nell had been through a lot lately. Being pregnant, she became a light sleeper and simply could not fall back to sleep after the noise. Hence, Nell got up to take a look.

It had never occurred to her that she would be welcomed by the sight.

Harking back to the earlier scene, she moved her gaze back and forth at the duo, giving a look worth pondering. Nell chuckled. “I didn’t think I’d wake up halfway through a nap at home to catch a hanky-panky in the act. Either you think I’m too much of a goody-two-shoes or I’m just air?”

Twitching by the corner of his lips, Gideon stared at her in grievance.

“I didn’t.”

Nell waved her arm to gesture that he keep his mouth shut.

“Miss Wilburn, as a guest to my home, I welcomed you with open arms. Even if some of your behavior was rather unsettling, I bore with it out of the respect for the old madam. Did you really think that I’m a pushover that you can do as you please?”

Helen grew pale. After a while, she muttered, “I’m sorry, Sister-in-law, it wasn’t my intention.”

“Not your intention to what?”

Nell darted her an indifferent glance, her eyes cold.

“Not your intention to prepare an entire spread of aphrodisiac food or not your intention to, right under my nose, seduce my man?”

Helen, “...”

Nell’s last two words pleased a certain somebody. He curled his lips. His earlier gloomy complexion foretelling an impending storm immediately eased up.

“Wifey, don’t be angry. We don’t want you to get worked up. Our baby is still in your tummy.”

He reached out to fold over her shoulders and caressed her back.

To his surprise, Nell gave him the evil eye.

Gideon, “....”

What did he do wrong?

Nell was not in the mood to deal with him. She coldly blurted. “Miss Wilburn, I don’t need your explanation. It’s all the same old excuses anyway.

“With the number of women trying to sweep our Gideon off his feet over the years, I can’t possibly keep an eye on each one of them. We’re relatives after all, I won’t publicize what happened today.

“In any case, I’m sparing your feelings. However, there’s no way we can be relatives since this has gone out of hand. Don’t ever come knocking on our door and go back to where you come from!”

Nell then called Aunt Joyce to see Helen off.

Helen’s pale face completely was drained of any remaining color.

“No, I won’t go! Sister-in-law, I was wrong, please forgive me! I won’t do it again. It was a moment’s weakness, I didn’t mean to do what I did.”
