Chloe did not expect to hear noisy discussions coming from the living room as soon as she entered the house.

“Dad, look at the time now. I don’t think that she’ll be coming home tonight.”

“That’s right, don’t mind me, but you spoil her too much. You think that it’s for her own good, but you’re actually harming her! How will she get married in the future with this behavior of hers?’

“Sigh! Why don’t I send someone out to find her?”

Chloe was speechless.

Chloe stood at the entrance, her lips trembling with anger as she heard their discussion.

What was wrong with her behavior? It would affect her marriage?

What ruthless things did she do this time that had caused shame to her entire family?

Chloe was so angry that her face turned pale. Mama Brockman, who was the family’s maid, was the first to see her as she came out of the kitchen. She said in surprise, “Miss?”

The discussion in the living room stopped immediately.

Chloe pressed her lips together tightly and walked into the living room. She looked at everyone there — Shania Fernandez, Iris Henderson, Jimmy Reese, Jade Hughes, and Zayne Henderson on the couch.

Everyone was stunned the moment they saw her, but their expressions turned quickly into sneers.

“Hey! Chloe’s finally back home? I thought you wouldn’t be coming back tonight!”

Shania was the first one to speak, and her tone was filled with mockery.

Chloe clenched her fists and looked at her disgusting face. She really wanted to step forward and slap her, but her rationality stopped her from doing so. With a cold smile, Chloe said, “Does it matter to you whether I come back or not?”

What she meant was that this was the Henderson household, and for that, whether she came back or not had nothing to do with Shania!

Shania sneered, “Of course it doesn’t have anything to do with me. I’m only worried about your father.”

Chloe flashed Zayne a look.

Zayne also had a slightly angered expression, but at least his eyes are not filled with mockery like the others.

Chloe sighed in her heart and walked towards them. She then passed her purse to Mama Brockman before she sat down on the couch and said with an arrogant tone, “So it turns out that our Auntie Hughes doesn’t exist and my father needs an outsider to be worried for him?”

Shania and Jade’s expression both changed as she said this.

Since Shania’s husband had died early, it was not easy for her to raise Jimmy all by herself for all these years as she did not possess any worthy skills that could support the family. So besides doing what she could, it was inevitable that she had to do some dirty business in order to support her life. Therefore, she did not have a good reputation.

Nonetheless, no one dared to speak about it in front of her. After all, it would be too offensive to expose her scars.

Yet Chloe did not care about any of this and instead, she provoked her multiple times. Why did she need to care about Shania’s pride?

Zayne said angrily, “Chloe, how can you talk to Shania like that? She’s your elder!”

“I don’t have such an elder who talks behind someone else’s back!”

“You!”

“Enough!” Jimmy suddenly stood up. He looked at Chloe with a face filled with anger and a pair of cold eyes.

“Chloe, what do you mean? What we’re saying isn’t the truth? You dare to do it but you’re afraid of what others say?”

“Heh!”

Chloe sneered. Just as she was about to speak, Iris glanced at her neck and her eyes lit up suddenly. She then quickly stepped forward to undo her collar.

At that moment, a hickey was revealed.

“What are you doing?”

Chloe was so anxious and angry, she wanted to push her hand away, but it was already too late. Everyone had seen the hickey on her neck.

Shani, Iris, and Jimmy all gave her a disdained look, and even though Jade did not show it, she let out a cold snort in her heart.

Zayne’s expression was the worst of all!

Looking at everyone’s expression, Chloe knew that something was wrong. As she was about to explain, a heavy smack landed on her cheek.
