Before, Jada had always thought that Joel was a playboy and would never settle down with one woman.
She was able to accept that fact as long as she became the second young missus of the Foster family.
It finally got to her head today that she was wrong.
Others may not be able to tell but she managed to observe that Joel had fallen for that woman.
Why?
Why did the man, who dumped her as though she was nothing, turn around and take a fancy to another woman.
How was she inferior to Lucy?
Jada refused to accept this fate!
A seed of irreconciliation and resentment was buried deep within and a just tiny spark was capable of setting it ablaze.
Gnashing her teeth, she clenched her fist and fixated on the photo on her screen.
It took a while before she took a deep breath. Jada forked out her phone and made a call.
“Hello, help me find a person. Get him to deal with something for me...”
Meanwhile, on the other side.
Lucy was unaware that Jada had an eye on her.
Susan had given Lucy several days off. Soon she would be joining the set of a thriller and comedy film, along with Simon, thereafter.
Hence, she planned to take these few days to keep her mother company in the hospital.
St. Petersburg Hospital that Mother Katz was staying in was the best in East Asia, regardless of facilities or environment.
Moreover, Joel had specially hired the best nurse for her, so that Lucy would have fewer things to worry about in life.
Lucy’s only concern was the availability of a donor heart for Mother Katz.
Her blood type was simply too rare. There was no way to have a heart transplant without a donor.
Without a heart transplant, the illness cast a shadow over the mother and daughter like an impending yet unpredictable curse, threatening to take away Mother Katz’s life.
Unwilling to give in, Lucy had her mind set on curing her mother.
That day, she was about to visit Mother Katz in the hospital when she received a call from Nell.
Lucy was caught by surprise.
Nell rarely initiated contact with her. Occupied with childcare and managing a company, she was really busy.
As an artist under Xinghui, Lucy’s needs were taken care of by either Hannah or Susan. It had been a while since Nell got involved.
Why did Nell call her at a time like this?
Filled with question marks, Lucy took the call.
Once the call connected, Nell was heard happily saying, “Lucy, I heard that your mother is sick and in the hospital?”
It was impossible to hide the fact from the company that Lucy’s mother was hospitalized. Lucy never intended to conceal it from the start.
She never mentioned it before solely because Susan and Nell did not ask, and neither did she touch on the topic.
Later, Susan found out through an incident and Lucy did not try to cover up or anything. It was no surprise that Nell caught on as well.
Lucy softly hummed an acknowledgment and nodded. “Yes, what’s up?”
Nell grinned. “Nothing. I heard that your mother has a heart problem. It so happens that I might travel out of the country soon. There’s a lot more news about donor hearts in Country F than within this country and news travels faster too. Do you need me to help you ask around?”
