Very soon, Nell decrypted the password.
She downloaded the email and read its contents.
The email contained specific descriptions of the Chinese Association and the situations that occurred around its members before Old K’s death.
There were plenty of situations. If she were to highlight the suspicious details, the range of investigation would be huge.
However, whoever sent this email was a veteran at investigating such matters. Therefore, instead of mentioning the names of suspects who were unlikely to be involved, only a few people who were connected to Old K’s death were highlighted.
Nell ignored the other suspects and focused her attention on one particular person.
The man had a gaunt and sallow face. He was not tall and was probably around 1.74 m to 1.75 m in height. He wore a black jacket, had a shaved head, and looked rather pale.
There was not much flesh on his face and he had typical Asian features. He was neither attractive nor ugly. He was the type of person who could blend in with the crowd easily.
Nevertheless, it was probably his eyes that seemed unusual.
They were a unique pair of eyes. The man was skinny, but his eyes did not reflect poor health. On the contrary, his gaze looked sharp and watchful, akin to an eagle soaring in the sky. A mere glance from him could strike fear down the hearts of those who looked at him.
All of a sudden, Nell had a hunch.
She seemed to have seen those eyes before but could not pinpoint when. Nell had a strange feeling when she stared straight into the man’s eyes.
It looked really familiar as if a long time ago, she had once stared deep into the man’s eyes and even had some dealings with him.
When did that happen?
A crease formed between her brows. For some unknown reason, her head began to ache.
She thought long and hard but did not come to a conclusion.
At last, Nell shook her head, took a deep breath, and managed to shake off that nagging pain in her head.
She moved her mouse and scrolled down.
The email stated that this man was deeply connected to Old K’s death.
Back then, an elderly passer-by saw him coming out of Old K’s residence.
A few minutes after that man left, somebody went up to the residence and discovered Old K’s body.
Thus, if there was no other evidence, or if there were no other accidents, this man could very likely be Old K’s murderer.
Nell frowned and jotted down all of the leads to analyze them.
Some time passed and she glanced at the time again. She assumed that Gideon had not reached his destination yet, so she forwarded the email to him. Once he had gotten off the plane, he would be able to read it.
After that, she turned off her computer and sat on the chair, letting out a long sigh.
Then, she got up, stretched out her stiff muscles, and went downstairs.
At noon, Nell and Lizzy had lunch at home.
Later, the family’s chauffeur took them outside.
The children’s art exhibition was located at an exhibition hall in the city center.
There were a few Children’s Palaces nearby. Although Lizzy didn’t go to those places, her classmates went there, so she was familiar with them.
Holding Lizzy’s hand, Nell flashed the ticket and entered the hall.
She thought it was just a simple art exhibition. Coincidentally, she met two familiar faces there.
They were Joel and Lucy.
Joel and Lucy were walking towards her.
