“Pfft! What can this daughter of a bum afford to buy?”
The woman next to Ursula jeered, “Don’t come here if you can't afford anything! You’re just a waste of space.”
Lucy frowned. “Does this museum… Belong to your family?”
The woman laughed. “It doesn’t, but when the museum was constructed, my family donated a whopping fifty million. I doubt a bumpkin like you has ever seen such a huge sum of money in your whole life!”
“So, I advise you to leave immediately. If you irritate our Elder Sister Shannon, she’ll send someone to kick you out and it’ll be even more humiliating!”
Lucy twitched her lips. Apparently, these folks loved to use someone else’s power to bully others.
She was perfectly aware of the donation by Shannon’s family. She still remembered that it was Joel who let the Peterson family make the donation.
However, these people acted like it was so magnanimous of them. It felt ironic when she thought of it.
“Hey! I’m talking to you, do you hear me?”
One of the women got angry when she did not get a reaction from Lucy, so she pushed the latter.
The injury Lucy received on her leg while filming earlier had not fully healed. She was caught off guard, lost her balance and fell backwards.
She did not expect the other woman to get physical. She thought about how unlucky she was and was prepared for the fall when a man caught her by her waist and supported her.
The group of women was stunned. When they noticed who the man was, they held their breath collectively.
Who was he? He was so handsome!
Was he an heir from a wealthy family? With his charisma and good looks, he might even be an upcoming celebrity!
A blushing Ursula was about to speak when the man muttered in a low, stern voice, “What happened? I’ve been gone for a minute and you let these people bully you?”
Lucy, who was in a daze, reacted and said, “No, I didn’t.”
“Then what happened?”
He looked at the women opposite him.
His gaze was like a sharp arrow that sent shivers down the spines of the three women before him. Their fawning sighs turned into gasps of horror.
Ursula furrowed her brows. “Who are you? We were just having a conversation. Mind your own business!”
The Peterson sisters had been studying overseas and only came home six months ago.
For the past six months, Joel had been ignoring Jada as he only cared about Lucy. Therefore, there was no more tabloid news surrounding him.
He seldom roamed about as well, so the women were not familiar with him.
Joel did not bother about them but fixed his gaze on Lucy.
Lucy pouted and whispered, “They said I’m a bum’s daughter and I can’t afford the things here, and they told me to get lost.”
Joel’s gaze hardened. “And you’re obedient enough to do so?”
“No!” Lucy defended herself. “However, they said that this place was sponsored by the Peterson family. Coincidentally, I offended Miss Peterson by accident, so I’m worried that I’ll be kicked out if I don’t leave.”
“Well done!” Joel snorted and yelled, “Mike!”
Mike appeared from a corner suddenly and walked towards Joel. He acknowledged respectfully, “Young Master.”
“Get these women out of here! Next, tell the person-in-charge here that I, Joel Foster, will buy this place!”
