Lucy knew that Joel had many houses, so there was nothing unusual about having a villa here either.
Thinking this way, Lucy completely brushed off the question.
After sitting down at the dining table, she pulled out her phone and called Carina.
When the call had connected, she asked about the situation with the crew and Carina updated her.
Fortunately, her role today was scheduled in the afternoon. Otherwise, since it was already 8:30 am now, it would be too late to put on makeup even if she rushed over now.
After Lucy confirmed the specific time, she got ready to hang up.
Carina had hesitated to say something many times, but in the end, she still did not ask what she wanted to ask. She only advised Lucy to hurry back to the crew after she had finished up, so the director would not see that she was absent and be unhappy.
Lucy quickly agreed and hung up before remembering to ask Joel.
“Oh, right. About last night, how exactly did I run into you?”
Joel glanced at her. “You really can’t remember anything?”
Lucy shook her head blankly.
Joel put a steamed dumpling in her bowl and said, “You were drunk last night.”
Yes, she remembered that.
Lucy nodded in agreement.
“I received a call from you. You said you missed me and asked me to hurry over.”
Lucy stared with wide eyes.
Joel continued slowly. “I was busy at the time and couldn’t leave, but you seemed to be very drunk. You kept saying on the phone how much you missed me and that you were about to cry, so I had no choice but to come over and pick you up.”
After hearing this, Lucy’s entire body froze. She could only be described as shocked.
She looked at Joel in disbelief and only shook her head after half a beat. “I-I don’t believe that. How could I have said that?”
Joel narrowed his eyes slightly and did not refute it. He only said indifferently, “If you say so. Anyway, it doesn’t matter since it’s already passed.”
Lucy, “...”
It would have been fine if he did not phrase it like that, but the way he said it seemed like… It made it seem like she did something overboard to him!
Last night, did she really...
Lucy’s heart was crumbling at this point. She was completely unable to believe that she would say something so shameful when she was drunk.
However, she was a person who always had one thing good about her.
That was she believed in taking responsibility for one’s own actions.
If she did something, even if she did not remember it, she would not deny it.
Thinking like this, she clenched her teeth and suddenly stood up.
“Joel, are you sure what you said was the truth? Did I really call you last night and said all that to you?”
Joel looked at her with deep eyes which flashed with a quick smile.
There was no emotion on his face and he only said, “I told you, it doesn’t matter anymore.”
“No!”
Lucy was stubborn. She felt that by saying that, Joel was looking down on her.
“I need it to be clear. Joel, I don’t think it’s possible for me to voluntarily say that I miss you. Are you lying to me? Hm?”
It was obvious that his little trick had been exposed by the woman but Joel still had that nonchalant look.
He picked up a napkin and wiped the corners of his mouth, and smiled. “You can think whatever you want. I have no evidence anyway and this matter isn’t important to me.”
Lucy looked at his carefree appearance and felt conflicted again.
It seemed like he was not guilty!
It did not look like he was lying.
