He was out of his wits, and so finally, he nodded helplessly.
“Okay, I know now.”
He stood up, walked over, and stretched out his hand.
“If that’s so, I wish you happiness. Don’t worry, I won’t be the same as how I was before. We’re still friends.”
With that, Lucy stood up.
Only then did a sincere smile emerge on her face.
Shaking his hand, she said, “Hmm, good friends.”
At that moment, Simon suddenly pulled her into his soft embrace.
The man’s shoulders were broad and it exuded a warm, fuzzy feeling.
Lucy was dumbfounded but Simon did not do anything after that. All he did was hug her lightly.
After a long while, he said, “I wish you happiness.”
Lucy’s stiff body softened and she smiled.
“Thank you.”
Their conversation ended there.
Simon left first because he had to film a show and since Lucy’s part was later, she could have more rest.
After Simon left, Carina came in and looked around to make sure that there was no one else except Lucy. She let out a sigh and walked into the room.
“Ms. Katz, how was it? Have you come to an agreement with Brother Simon?”
Lucy nodded her head and got Carina to pour her a glass of honey water. She drank and said, “Simon is a smart person, he knows what I said and won’t pursue this any further.”
Carina let out a sigh after hearing that.
Following that, she frowned.
She said to Lucy, “Ms. Katz, I pity Brother Simon. He has the looks, the money, a good family background, he’s caring and he’s a gentleman. Why is he so unlucky?
“It wasn’t easy for him to meet a girl that he likes whom he confessed to but eventually rejected because she already has a boyfriend.
“Sigh, I feel sorry for him.”
With the glass in her hand, Lucy threw a side glance at her with a laugh.
“Since you pity him, why don’t you console him?”
Carina was stunned.
She looked at Lucy and asked, “Can I?”
Lucy nodded. "Of course. After all, our Carina is especially sympathetic to handsome guys, and your personality is gentle and cute. You are the epitome of a joyful spirit. As long as you go, maybe Simon will not be sad and realize that there are still so many options around. Then he would let things go and start a new life.”
No matter how slow Carina was, she caught Lucy’s sarcasm.
For a moment, her small face was flushed red.
"Sister Lucy! Don't talk nonsense."
Although she said that, her face was redder by the minute and her heart started to thump wildly too.
Lucy was really just joking, not expecting that Carina would react this way.
She was stunned for a while before she finally reacted. She could not help but feel a little shocked.
However, that was not a bad thing.
