A second later, Joel Foster said blankly, “It’s alright, I have a relative here, so I’ll stay at their place tonight.”
The crew member heard this and paused.
“Oh, do they live far away? We need to be up early tomorrow. Can you make it on time?”
Joel was expressionless and replied, “I can.”
The person heard this and did not want to probe further, so he just nodded.
“Alright, take care.”
The crew member then went into the room.
Lucy Katz, who was opening her door at that moment, overheard their conversation.
After she opened the door, she looked back and saw the man standing there with his hands in his pockets. He looked at her and smiled coyly.
Lucy stared at him sternly.
She did not give him a chance to speak before she went into the room.
Lucy closed the door and turned the lock in one swift motion.
After she was done, she clapped her hands proudly.
‘Ha! Who asked you to come here and scare me? Let’s see how you’ll manage tonight!‘
She casually threw her purse to the side and went into the bathroom to take a shower.
On the other side of the door, Joel did not think that she would latch the door.
Initially, he had already prepared a spare keycard to Lucy’s room and was going to sneak in without anyone noticing.
He never would have thought this woman would lock him out!
With the latch in place, he could not go into the room with just the keycard.
Joel thought about it and turned around to go outside.
He knew that this time, his impulsive behavior had agitated Lucy.
At that time, if he forcefully opened her door, she would be infuriated.
To avoid agitating his wife further, Second Young Master Foster decided that he would use some roundabout tactics to solve this problem.
That was when Lucy just got out of the shower. She hummed a tune cheerfully as she walked out of the bathroom when she saw a shadow sneaking up to her window.
She was stunned and her body froze.
In the next second, she screamed.
“Ah...Ghost...”
She did not get to scream for too long before the man from the window jumped in and covered her mouth.
“Stop screaming! It’s me!”
Lucy was shocked to hear a familiar voice. When she came back to her senses, she recognized who it was.
She felt angry and exasperated.
“Joel Foster! Are you sick in the head? Why are you sneaking onto someone’s balcony at this time of night! Do you know that you’ll scare me to death?!”
Joel’s face was aggrieved as Lucy scolded him.
“Wifey, I didn’t want to...but you locked the door and I couldn’t come in, so I could only climb up.”
As he said this, he blinked his pitiable eyes at her.
Lucy was stunned.
She was at a loss for words.
After all, what Joel said was true.
She did lock him out. He had no other way of coming in, except the window.
As she thought about this, her room was more than 10 stories high and she did not know how the man had managed to climb up here. No matter how he climbed up, it was still dangerous.
Lucy’s face turned black.
Joel also knew that he had gone overboard this time.
To appease her, he quickly begged for mercy.
“Okay, okay. I was wrong. It’s my fault. Please don’t be mad at me...”
Lucy knew that it was pointless for her to be mad.
