Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 643

Joel Foster had never thought that John Foster would say no.

From John's point of view, it was only natural to inherit the family business and continue to carry it forward.

However, from Joel’s point of view, this was a shackle — a prison sentence.

He was not interested in the family’s businesses.

There was a time when his father had forced him to work in the company. Every day then felt like he was sitting on pins and needles; he felt like he was dying.

Joel never liked those cold numbers that represented the list of businesses.

What he loved was the universe. It was astronomy.

His dream was to build a space-shuttle like never before and to bring more scientists and physicists together to explore the wonders of the universe.

Joel felt that the world was simply too mysterious, which gave him more curiosity for exploration.

On top of that, of course, he had also invested in many businesses.

However, most of them were joint-investments with Gideon Leith or John Foster.

He did not care much and was not very interested in the businesses. All he knew was that it was very profitable.

Due to this, in the eyes of outsiders, Joel had become known as a rich second-generation who could not do anything.

He only knew how to fiddle with his broken machines and hung out with those people who were equally as engaged in some kind of science.

It was all useless.

This was because, in those people's eyes, only investment and making money were called proper business.

However, Joel could not care less about the evaluation of outsiders.

In his opinion, as long as he enjoyed himself and was happy doing it, nothing else mattered.

Therefore, at that moment, he was looking at the drawings of the latest space-shuttle that was sent to him by a physicist he knew from before.

Someone knocked on the door as he was looking at it.

After he had shouted for them to come in, Lucy walked in.

"It’s late, why are you still here?"

Lucy asked.

Joel looked up from his computer and waved at her with a smile.

"Come take a look."

Lucy raised her eyebrows and walked over with curiosity, where she saw a strange drawing displayed on the computer screen.

She frowned and asked, "What is this?"

"A model of a spaceship. This is its cryogenic chamber, where you can put people in it. After a high-tech treatment, it’ll put them into hibernation."

Stunned, Lucy turned around to look at him in shock.

"Hibernation?"

"Yup." Joel looked excited at the mention of this.

"It's like animals. Aren't there a lot of animals that hibernate in the winter? Humans can too, and this will ensure that people will be allowed to do more in a finite life."

When Lucy heard this, she could not help but smile.

"So you've been messing with this."

Joel nodded with a smile.

Then, he suddenly pulled Lucy over and picked her up.

Lucy was so shocked that she asked, "What are you doing?"

Joel laughed lightly and replied, "Do you think when this model is built, we can name it after our first child?"

Lucy was dumbstruck.

She could not find a reaction to this. How did the topic jump so fast?

After a while, she finally lost her smile and said, "You think too much. We've only just gotten married. How can we have a child so soon?"

However, Joel’s expression turned serious all of a sudden.

"What do you mean fast? Look at Brother Deon and look at Liam Jackman. Why do they all have sons but not me? No, I want one too."

The man's childish appearance amused Lucy.

Lucy’s senses made her smack the man's hand and laugh. "Stop it, this is not a joke. We’re not even ready yet. How can you just say you want one?"

Unexpectedly, Joel became even more serious.

He picked her up and walked to the bedroom.
