Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 659

Lucy never thought that her mother would say something like this.

She expected her mother to have felt that way even less.

At that moment, a complex and touching feeling mixed in her heart.

Her father had died early, and all these years, it had been up to her mother to raise her.

She was protected and loved, and even though her mother was amid such difficulty and danger, she never allowed her daughter to suffer any harm.

That was why Lucy was grateful for her mother. However, behind this gratitude, she always had a faint feeling that it was as if she had kidnapped her mother’s life.

After all, if it were not for a burden like her, her mother would not have been forced to marry Old Fourth Cecil in the first place.

Her mother had many chances to leave Old Fourth afterward. Even if she had to run away to a place where no one knew her so that Old Fourth would not be able to find her, she would not have to endure such a miserable life.

However, she had Lucy. After all, Lucy was still a child who needed to go to school and live a stable life.

That was why her mother chose to endure. She silently buried the pain along with her tears and hid it from everyone.

However, even if others did not know, how would Lucy be unaware?

She knew very well that she was half the reason for all this.

There had been countless moments when she had looked at her mother’s aging face and graying hair with pain in her heart and wondered how many of those old wrinkles and white hair had been formed because of her.

If she could, she hoped that her mother could have her own interest, hobbies, life, and people who she wanted to spend her time with.

Now, she suddenly heard her mother say such words.

She was shocked and moved, and had the feeling that her dream had finally come true.

Lucy reached out to hold her mother’s hand, her throat choking up a little.

“Mom, are you serious? If you go back to the south, can you really have a life of your own?”

She was still worried.

After all, it had been a year or two since her mother had been in the capital. If she went back again, would she be able to get used to it?

The woman’s smile was warm as she raised her hand and gently wiped the tears from her eyes.

She said softly, “Of course I can, you silly girl. Since I brought this matter up, I must have thought it over carefully already. You don’t have to worry about me.

“I’m worried about you. Now that you’ve grown up, you can’t be as childish as before. It’s your blessing that Little Joel loves you. You mustn't be spoiled and pampered because of this, alright?”

Lucy pouted and muttered in a low voice, “I’m not wilful.”

Her mother saw this and smiled, saying nothing.

Joel wanted to keep her a little longer, and said, “If you find the weather in the north uncomfortable, you can go live in the south when it’s winter and come over in the summer, so that there’s no delay on both sides. There’s no inconvenience now that transport is developed.”

Lucy nodded quickly when she heard this. “Yeah, mom. Look, it’s spring now and it’ll warm up soon. There’s no need for you to go back to the south again.”

Her mother looked at them, her gaze becoming increasingly gentle and loving.

She patted Lucy’s hand gently and laughed, “Silly girl. No matter how good this place is, it’s not my hometown after all.”

The words stunned both of them.

Only then did Lucy remember that her mother’s ancestry seemed to be from the south.

A long time ago, her father passed through the south because of the war and ended up meeting her mother, who was not married at that time. They had fallen in love at first sight.

After their marriage, her mother came to the capital with her father and settled there. When her father resigned, their first consideration was to go back to the south.
