Lucy widened her eyes and looked at Joel in disbelief, and gnashed her teeth. “You don’t know what I’m angry about? Don’t you have any goddamn idea about what you did?”
Joel. “???”
What had he done?
What ‘goddamn idea’ was he supposed to have?
However, experience taught him that no matter what the other party was angry about, it was never a good idea to ask. At this point, asking anything would be wrong.
Putting aside everything else, what he needed to do now was apologize.
Therefore, Joel, who very much wanted to continue living, said seriously, “I’m sorry, my wife. I was wrong.”
Lucy was immediately stunned.
The fire she prepared to hurl completely collapsed like a burst balloon because of this apology.
She looked at him and snorted coldly after a moment.
“Don’t think that I’ll forgive you just because you apologized. Hmph.”
Seeing this, Joel quickly coaxed her. “Wife, I was really wrong.”
Then, he even reached out and hugged her.
The anger in Lucy’s heart had already mostly dissipated, but she still could not help but ask. “What are you wrong about?”
Joel. “...”
He really wanted to say, ‘How should I know what I’m wrong about?’
However, this was something he did not dare to say directly. After thinking about it and going over in his head all the things he had seen and experienced along the way before, his eyes finally lit up.
He looked at Lucy and said tentatively, “I… Shouldn’t have kept staring at that woman just now?”
He had just been taking a stab at the dark and did not hold much hope in his heart.
Unexpectedly, Lucy’s expression shifted.
Joel saw this and knew that he had guessed correctly.
On top of being greatly relieved, there was a little sweetness and celebration in his heart.
He smiled. “Wife, are you jealous?”
He asked in a prodding tone.
Lucy glared viciously at him.
Gritting her teeth, she said, “You sound very proud of yourself.”
Joel chuckled and took her into his arms, hugging her waist and smiling shamelessly at her. “Do I? I only feel super happy that you’re jealous, because it means that you care about me in your heart.”
Lucy scoffed and did not say anything.
Seeing this, Joel explained, “The truth is, I wasn’t staring at that woman because I found her pretty.”
Lucy rolled her eyes at him. “Bullsh*t.”
Joel quickly raised his hand. “It’s true. I swear to God. No matter how pretty she is, she’s not as pretty as you are. After all, you’re my dear wife, aren’t you?”
Then, he even shamelessly leaned in to kiss her.
Lucy slapped him away in disgust and said coldly, “Say whatever you want. I don’t care anyway.”
Her arrogant and huffy look could not help but make Joel smile.
