Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 676

Natalie stared at him and sneered, “Really? Why do I feel like it’s because you care so much about her that you can’t bear to see anyone trashing her?”

Xavier’s expression went blank. “Nat, don’t you know how I feel about you? It’s been so many years, I’ve already—”

Natalie had no desire to hear anything he had to say, so she interrupted him coldly and lifted the covers to get out of bed. “That’s enough. You don’t need to say anything else.”

Xavier’s eyes followed her movements, but his expression remained dazed. It was not until she was putting her shoes on that he asked, “Where are you going?”

“You can sleep here alone. I’m going to the guest room.”

Xavier was rendered speechless.

There was no way he would let Natalie sleep in the guest room tonight. He would never agree to let her sleep there. What would his family think when they saw the couple sleeping in separate rooms?

Not to mention, he had a good grasp on Natalie’s temper after all these years with her, and she had never wanted to sleep elsewhere no matter how huge a fight they had. That meant that he had really hurt her feelings this time.

With that thought in mind, he got out of bed and pulled her back.

“Nat, let’s not do this now, alright? You know the thing between me and Emilia was years ago. I was young and reckless, and we didn’t really do anything back then. I just paid her extra attention because she’s your sister. I did it all for you.”

Xavier obviously knew what Natalie’s weakness was since they had been married for years. Aware that she had a soft heart, he tried his best to appeal to that.

However, Natalie too had had a few years of experience and was no longer the innocent young lady she once was. How could she be lied to so easily now?

She stared at Xavier for a moment before sneering again. “What if I told you that Emilia didn’t die?” she said in an ominous tone.

Xavier froze for a second. Then, he waved his hands dismissively. “That’s impossible, impossible. This joke is not funny, babe. Let’s not joke about something like this, okay?”

“I’m not joking.”

Natalie took Xavier’s hand that was on her arm and pushed it away. She gazed right into his eyes and said in a deadly tone, “I just met her two days ago. I can tell you in all seriousness that she’s alive and that she’s in the capital right now.”

Xavier was so stunned by the news he was frozen on the spot. As if he had gone dumb, he stared blankly at Natalie for a very long time before believing her.

Indeed, she was not joking when she said she met Emilia.

Emilia Jareau was still very much alive.

Xavier bit his lip, and it took him quite a while to recover. He pointed at the post on his phone and said, “Are you telling me that what the post said is real? The woman the user saw was Emilia?”

A minute ago, Natalie had been a little hopeful at the prospect that Xavier might have changed. Her heart sank right away when she saw how excited he was.

She said coldly, “Yeah, it’s true. Congratulations. Your true love is back.”

“I…” Xavier trailed off. He opened his mouth as if he wanted to explain himself, but he swallowed the words back down when they were just at the tip of his tongue.

After a moment of silence, he murmured weakly, “Nat, I just want you to know that I’m really not feeling whatever you think I am right now. I know there are a lot of misunderstandings between the three of us, but I hope that you’ll trust me. We’ve been married for so many years. I believe that I’ve not done anything wrong since then, so I hope that you’ll at least give me the trust I deserve.”
