After what had transpired last time, Joel learned about Emilia’s unlikely relationship with his own parents. It was also due to this reason that he assumed they should not see each other.

Now, the two of them were sitting together like a couple of close friends, hence he was puzzled.

Natalie pursed her lips and did not respond.

Thinking it would be bad to not answer, Emilia decided to explain, “I came to look for Madam Foster for some matters, and coincidentally, I heard about what happened to Chairman Foster, so I came here.”

It was at this moment that she purposefully changed her form of address from Brother Xavier to Chairman Foster.

To her, Joel only knew that she, Natalie, and Xavier had an entanglement.

However, he was unsure of the details.

Emilia had no intention of disrupting their lives. Thus, she never thought of letting him know about her real relationship with them.

Joel listened and nodded understandingly.

The car in the photo was crushed and deformed, but she recognized the model of the car and its vague license plate.

The Fosters owned many cars and it was impossible for her to remember each and every one of them, but she clearly remembered the license plate of that particular car. It was because Joel had picked her up using that car before they became a couple.

At first, she assumed it was Joel’s car, so she had an impression of it.

Only later did she found out that it was his father’s car and he only drove it for a while that day.

When Lucy saw that photo, she quickly realized the gravity of the situation.

She then took the crew member aside, where she bought the photo from her privately and bribed the latter in exchange for her silence.

The crew member had no idea why Lucy wanted that photo, but she agreed to her request as she did not want to offend Lucy and she also had money to gain from it.

Following that, Lucy quickly phoned Joel.

After listening to her explanation, Joel replied in a deep voice.

“Yes, Dad is involved.”

“Ah?!” Lucy gasped and every shred of hope died within her.

She asked hastily, “How is he now? Is it serious?”

“I don’t know. He’s still in the operating theatre.” Joel paused before he sighed. “But the chauffeur died on the spot. Mom has sent someone to take care of the chauffeur’s funeral and his family. As for our side, we’ll probably have to wait until the operation is done before we can say anything.”

Lucy then realized that the situation was much more serious than she thought.
