Nell saw it clearly and she was right.
Those two men had been following them.
Nell’s sixth sense fitted perfectly with what was going on.
With an evil grin, the man raised his gun. Nell was shocked and instinctively tried to evade him.
At the same time, a dark figure swept past.
A loud bang was heard. The man had been kicked and collapsed onto the floor.
Then, she heard Nancy’s cry. “Nelly, come here!”
Nell was alarmed! She ran towards her.
They had no idea why those two men wanted to tackle them, but it was obvious that they did not do a proper investigation on the women. They assumed Nell and Nancy were just two regular young women.
Therefore, they never expected Nancy to be so agile and athletic.
Evidently, these two men were assassins hired by someone.
Yet, they risked the lives of all passengers on board in order to kill them. This angered Nell a lot.
The two women dashed towards the exit and had their parachutes ready. Suddenly, a plane flew towards their direction.
A loud voice resounded in the air via a loudspeaker.
“Attention to all passengers of the plane in front of us. We’re here to save you. If you’re willing to hand over two people, we’ll get a fully functioning plane to receive you and send you to your destination safely. If you don’t cooperate, don’t blame us for being unkind.”
Nell was alarmed.
Two banners were unrolled from the plane. Blown-up photos of Nell and Nancy were printed on the banners.
The passengers saw the photos from the windows.
At once, someone yelled, “I see them, they’re over there.”
He pointed at Nell and Nancy who were standing at the doorway.
The two of them scowled. They never imagined the other party to be so ruthless.
Initially, they did not care about the lives of those onboard the plane. Now, they had even pitted the other passengers against them.
As they looked at the crowd rushing towards them, the two women realized there was no time to lose.
Nancy gripped Nell’s arm and said, “Jump!”
Next, she pushed her out of the plane and jumped out as well.
Gunshots resounded in the air.
Nevertheless, due to the air stream, the bullets could not hit them.
Nell sensed the cold wind against her face. It felt like her body had been split apart by the strong gust of wind.
She closed her eyes. She could not think under such circumstances and she did not know where Nancy was either.
The parachute on her back opened with a “whoosh”. However, due to the strong wind, the powerful airstreams and the lack of oxygen, she could not bring herself to focus and control the parachute.
In the end, she felt that something had wrapped around her head tightly, to the point that her head ached and was about to explode.
She blacked out and lost consciousness.
…
When Nell awoke, she saw blurry beads of light in the distance.
Gradually, she opened her eyes and realized that she was lying in a dilapidated old house.
The house was made of mud paste and rocks. It was shabby and the mattress she was laying on gave off a musty smell.
