As they expected, Vickie did become the fuse between the Vermilion Bird Organization and the Dragon Regimen which caused the two largest underground organizations to consume each other until they fell apart.
Now, she was all alone and was no longer of any use or threat to them at all.
Why were they still chasing after her, and even went so far as to send out so many people to take her life?
Vickie was puzzled but she was not the only one. Gregory also harbored the same thoughts.
It was only at this point that they realized things seemed to be far more complicated than they had imagined.
Gregory was in no hurry now that Vickie had finished reading the information. He sat down on a chair next to her and asked, "What do you have in mind?"
Vickie turned to look at him.
Her head was still so muddled that she could not feel anything, but vaguely, she felt a little uneasy.
She shook her head and said, "I don't know."
Gregory fell silent.
His long fingers tapped the armrest of the chair periodically. After a while, he said in a deep voice, "They’re hell-bent on catching you, and according to today's situation, they don't want you dead yet. They want to capture you alive. What do you have that they covet?"
Vickie was dazed.
Neither of them spoke for a while as they fell in deep thought.
Just then, they heard someone shouting from outside.
Both of them were stunned. However, after Vickie listened in to a few sentences, her face changed drastically.
Her face, which was already quite pale, suddenly turned as white as paper.
"Jennie, my poor daughter! You died so miserably! I blame that godd*mned heartless sister of yours. Don't worry! I’ll avenge your death, Jennie!"
It was Bryan Taylor's voice!
Gregory knew that this matter could no longer be hidden from Vickie after he saw her rapidly paling face.
In an extremely low voice, he said, "Jennie Taylor’s dead. I brought her body back and hired the best embalmer to fix her up. She’s now at the auxiliary building. When you're feeling better, you can go over to see her anytime."
Gregory knew that if Vickie woke up and found out that Jennie had died because of her, she would definitely want to see her.
Sure enough, Vickie nodded her head. Her face was pale when she muttered, "I want to go now."
Gregory frowned.
His eyes swept over her gauze-wrapped body and after a few seconds of silence, he did not refuse in the end.
With that, he bent down and picked her up from the bed.
Vickie's body stiffened as she subconsciously wanted to struggle and refuse.
However, she was stopped by the man’s cold voice.
"If you want to see her, behave yourself! Otherwise, in your current state, do you expect to crawl over there yourself?"
Vickie stopped moving at once.
After a while, her stiff body relaxed slightly too.
She knew that he was right. It was impossible for her to walk over to the auxiliary building in this state.
