Gregory Graham did not say a word.
A pair of dark eyes looked at her quietly.
Vickie Thomas was so irritated that she reached out and pushed him further away.
"Go away! Don't bother me."
She thought the man would be annoyed, but unexpectedly, he laughed lightly.
A low, slightly hoarse voice with a burning breath pounded in her ears, which was inexplicably alluring and devious.
"V, so this is what you look like when you're jealous."
His arm that she had just pushed away hitched up again, but this time, the man was smarter and did not press it on her waist. Instead, his arm hovered lightly over her, and he used his fingertips to gently pinch her small round earlobe.
"Just now after you left, I went to see Yuliana again."
Vickie's body stiffened.
Although she still had her back to him and looked like she was pouting and refusing to speak to him, in reality, her ears perked up with curiosity.
She did not know if Gregory had noticed anything different about her, but he still said indifferently, "After a while, I’ll send her away and she won’t appear in front of you ever again. Are you happy now?"
Vickie frowned.
She was silent for a moment. Eventually, she turned her head and looked at him.
Her eyes were deep with a hint of interrogation.
"Where are you sending her?"
Gregory raised his eyebrows.
"Obviously, to where she belongs."
Vickie sneered.
"Of course, you're cruel enough. She’s so devoted to you and you just dump her like that. Gregory Graham, even after 4 years, you're still just as cold and heartless!"
Gregory's face sank.
He reached out, cupped her chin, and looked deeply into her eyes.
"What do you want me to do then? You're the one who doesn't like her. Now that I'm sending her away, you're also the one who's being sarcastic. Don't you think that's contradictory?"
Vickie's heart stumbled.
She did not feel it at first, but after being told off by him like this, she somehow felt it was true.
Vickie quirked her eyebrows and said with some impatience, "Do whatever you like. What does it have to do with me?"
After she said this, she turned her head to shake off his hand, which was still cupping her chin.
She then said in a low voice, "It's late, I'm going to sleep. You should leave."
Gregory looked at her deeply.
Vickie felt like he had almost stared a hole through the back of her head. Then, she felt a sudden lightness behind her.
The man had gotten up, jumped off the bed, and leaped out the window again.
She closed her eyes and cursed under her breath, "Psycho!"
This was his house, yet he did not use the front door and chose to sneak around through the window. This man was clearly not in his right mind!
The next day, Vickie woke up early.
She squinted at the early morning sunlight that came in through the window. When she turned her head, she saw that Andrea had pushed open the door and walked in.
“Ms. Thomas, you're awake."
Vickie nodded, stretched out her hand, and sat up with Andrea's help.
"What time is it?"
"It's 8:30 am."
Andrea smiled and looked like she was in a good mood.
"Mr. Osborne just came over and said to let him know when you wake up. The doctor that’ll help with your bandages has already arrived. He’s just waiting for you to wake up."
Vickie was slightly startled.
