Vickie Thomas frowned as a look of impatience arose on her face after being disturbed. She asked, "Who's out there?"
Andrea walked in through the door and whispered, "It's Ms. Lynch."
Vickie's brow furrowed even deeper.
It was that scheming witch again?
What was she doing here?
No matter what she was here for, she made so much noise outside that Vickie could not possibly take a nap then.
Since she could not nap, she might as well get up.
Vickie begrudgingly got out of bed and allowed Andrea to push her out.
When she went out, she saw that Yuliana Lynch was reprimanding a maid.
They lived in the same auxiliary building and their rooms were on the same floor even though they were on separate sides of the building.
On weekdays, since Vickie did not go out much, it was considered rare for the two of them to run into each other, unless a certain party was waiting there on purpose.
Due to this, the two of them had lived together for so long without any real conflicts.
Right now, it could be seen that Yuliana was standing there arrogantly with her arms on her waist. She was berating a maid from the auxiliary building.
Vickie recognized the maid and remembered that she was one of the cooks in charge of their meals on this side of the kitchen.
Usually, the meals she and Yuliana ate were all prepared by this cook.
The cook’s skills were not the best, but it was still decent. Even people like Vickie, whose tastes were rather picky, could not help but praise her cooking sometimes.
What was Yuliana trying to pull off this time?
Since the two shared the cook, Vickie did not ignore it and asked Andrea to push her over.
When she got there, through Yuliana's chattering and angry scolding, Vickie gathered that this conflict arose when Yuliana wanted a bowl of bird's nest in the morning and the cook made it for her.
The bird's nest was sent to her, but Yuliana later found out that the bird's nest was old. She remembered that a few days ago, Mr. Osborne had bought some bird's nest, but it was new.
From this, she suspected that the cook must have secretly switched the new bird's nest given to her by Mr. Osborne and replaced it with the worthless old bird’s nest, which she then took home to enjoy herself.
Unlike other maids, the cook was married and had a child. Her husband worked for a big company in the city and her child went to kindergarten, so she did not stay at the chateau at night.
Instead, every day after she made dinner, she went home to live with her husband and child.
When Yuliana said that, it was obvious that she knew there was no way the maid could prove that she had not stolen the bird's nest.
After all, it had been several days since Mr. Osborne had sent the new bird's nest to her.
Even if it was not found on her, as long as Yuliana said that she must have taken it out and hidden it, the maid would be unable to say anything.
Therefore, the maid stood there facing Yuliana’s arrogant attitude and was so anxious that she almost cried out as she had no way to defend herself.
Vickie's eyes grew cold.
Just then, she felt the fingers that were holding the armrest of her wheelchair tighten, even trembling slightly.
She could not help but look up and see Andrea's anxious and frustrated look.
With a flash of doubt in her mind, she asked in a low voice, "Do you know each other?"
Andrea heard this, lowered her head to meet her gentle gaze, bit her lip, and finally nodded.
"She's my friend. We're from the same hometown. We're usually very close, she…”
Andrea paused, and in the end, she continued, "She’s clean and honest. There's no way she would be a greedy person who takes small advantages."
Vickie nodded her head slightly.
When she turned her head again and looked at Yuliana, her clear eyes could not help but become colder.
