Namely, the other person was well-informed on the situation and Vickie’s daily habits. If Reina was the one who had poisoned her, she absolutely could have put the poison in the food. After all, even though Andrea was the one who took the food, Reina was the one who had packaged it.
However, why would Reina put the poison in the white fungus lotus seed soup?
No matter how much she thought about this, Vickie could not figure out the reason.
She had her suspicions. However, there was no way to confirm her suspicions. As such, she had to let it go for now.
She would bring it up again in the future if she had the opportunity.
As complex thoughts filled her mind, she suddenly heard the sound of a car engine from downstairs.
Vickie froze for a moment. As the car did not enter from the side of her balcony, she could not see who it was. However, the sound originated from somewhere far away instead of somewhere nearby. As such, someone did not leave the castle. They had probably entered instead.
As she thought of this, she figured that it would be better to take a look since she could not sleep anyway.
Thus, she changed her clothes and went outside in her wheelchair.
Meanwhile, in the living room of the main building...
Massimo was all smiles as he walked into the living room. He saw a few maids quietly wiping some things and asked, “Where’s your Young Master?”
Everyone knew Massimo as Gregory’s best friend. As such, everyone treated Massimo with great respect.
A maid answered softly, “In the room upstairs.”
Massimo nodded his head and walked upstairs.
Everyone did not stop him. After all, Gregory had once said that Massimo was one of his. If Massimo ever came, he could directly see him without needing to worry about a single thing.
Massimo walked to the second floor. To his surprise, he saw Vickie coming out from her room first before he got to see Gregory.
He froze for a moment. Then, he quickly smiled. “Vickie, it’s been such a long time since we last met.”
He paused. Then, his eyes darkened as he glanced at her wheelchair as well as her long legs.
“I had heard that you were injured. I wanted to see you at first, but Gregory didn’t allow it. How are you now? Are you feeling better?”
Before that, Vickie had heard that Massimo was going to see her. That was right after she woke up from her injuries.
However, they did not know who was the culprit at that time. Apart from that, Jennie had just passed away too. Vickie was in a foul mood back then, so she did not meet up with him.
She gently smiled. “I’m better now. How did you find the time to come today?”
Massimo smiled and raised his hand, showing the invitation card in his hand.
“I’m here to find Gregory to give him a wedding invitation.”
Vickie was shocked.
Before she could utter a single word, someone had already opened the door to Gregory’s room from the inside.
A man who was wearing a black silk night robe stood in front of the door.
Needless to say, this man had the assets to make people fall madly in love with him.
Just by standing there leisurely, his slim body and handsome looks were already on full display. The ray of sunlight that seeped through the windows from the end of the corridor just served to accentuate his extraordinary facial features.
He looked at Vickie, then glanced at Massimo.
His eyes grew dimmer. He then said, “Follow me inside.”
As such, the other two entered his room.
Gregory and Vickie had been dating for a long time in the past. Vickie had also been staying in the chateau recently, but this was her first time entering his room.
Once she entered the room, she had realized that the room did not possess a masculine, dark tone as she thought initially.
