Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 85

With a word, Nell held the milky tea and smiled.

Gideon kicked up a fuss but could not find any more words as he gazed at her smiling face. He lit up with a smile.

“Well, spill the beans! Did you plan this?”

Nell nodded.

Gideon’s appearance today may be unexpected but the event still played out according to her original plan.

She had also had a rematch with Celine in mind.

Only, with Gideon as the mediator, it would be a fair competition.

Singing the same tune, Gideon gave a faint smile. “I shouldn’t have interfered.”

Nell shook her head.

“No, you came at the right time.”

She never brought up that although she had a plan figured out, it might fall through.

The Joneses... were not people she could trust anymore.

Five years ago, Oliver Jones was the one who had convicted her of the accusation.

Would justice be served with a rematch occurring five years later without the presence of a fair judge?

It was great that he was here.

With someone backing her up, Nell felt her back straightening up!

Janet took strides out of the hotel and smiled. “Oh my, did I just witness something I’m not supposed to? Nelly, why don’t you introduce us?”

Nell pursed her lips into a grin as she pulled Janet over to introduce to Gideon.

“This is my best friend, Janet Hancock.”

“Jan, this is Gideon Leith, my...”

She paused. Rosy pink crept up her ears as though it had been patted down with rouge.

In the end, she whispered, “My husband.”

Janet widened her eyes in surprise.

“What? You-you’re married...”

Nell covered her mouth.

“Shhh! Quiet down!”

She muttered an explanation, “We married in secret.”

Janet nodded in understanding.

After Nell loosening her grip, Janet threw a glance at Gideon before turning to Nell, giving a thumbs up.

“You guys are the bomb. In such a short span of time, you... Hmm, I’m impressed.”

Nell grinned in a bashful manner.

Gideon was not pleased with Nell’s secretive attitude, acting like he was an embarrassment.

Hence, he chose to keep silent in show of his displeasure.

Janet asked, “Nelly, tell me truthfully. It’s been five years, how much do you remember of that work? You’ll drop the ball if you can’t recreate the whole thing tomorrow.”

Nell smiled.

She fished out a color drawing from her purse and said, “I’ve made preparations. I drew this from memory and it’s an exact copy of the art from five years ago. I drew this out of fear I might have forgotten it. I’ll outline this tomorrow.”

Feeling assured, Janet nodded.

“Great. It’s getting late so I’d best be going now. I’ll come see you tomorrow.”

Nell nodded. “Okay.”

Just as Janet was leaving, a dark figure in hiding crept out into the dark of the night.

Nell glanced at the hot milky tea before taking a sip. She blurted, “Gideon Leith, I have the urge to use the ladies’ room. Why don’t you wait for me here?”

Gideon uttered in a low voice, “I’ll accompany you.”

“It’s alright. The ladies’ room is on the first floor. I’ll go myself. Help me hold my milk tea.”
