Vickie stood up and hugged Andrea.
"Miss Vickie! I’ve finally met you! You're really okay...I was scared to death." Andrea hugged her back while her body trembled faintly because she was scared.
As Vickie held Andrea, she felt a bit complicated and apologetic. She knew that Andrea was just an ordinary girl who probably had never experienced something like kidnapping in her life.
This time, it was only because of her that Andrea was implicated. Thus, her guilt was even heavier. She patted Andrea’s shoulder gently and said, "Alright. It's okay. Don't be afraid."
Andrea whimpered and lifted her head from Vickie’s shoulder. As she wiped her tears, she asked, "Miss Vickie, what's going on here?"
Vickie glanced at Lucius, who was still standing by the door, and her gaze was slightly cold. "It's nothing. Don't worry. You'll be fine."
Lucius saw that she kept looking at him with a hostile gaze and knew that he was not welcome there, so he shrugged his shoulders and turned around to leave.
Vickie motioned for Andrea to untie her, then walked over to the door and closed it.
Once she was sure that the people outside could not hear her, she turned to look at Andrea. She examined her to make sure that she was not hurt and that she had not been mistreated in any way.
She then went over to take Andrea's hand and sat down on the edge of the bed.
"How are you? You didn’t get hurt these two days, did you? Did they give you a hard time?"
Although Andrea shook her head, on her face, there was still clearly a look of fear. Because she was afraid that Vickie would be worried and guilty, she tried to act as if she was fearless.
Little did she know that the more she looked like this, the more distressed Vickie felt.
She shook her head and said, "I'm fine. They just locked me up. They didn't beat me or mistreat me. They just never wanted to tell me about your condition...sob...sob...I was so worried."
Vickie watched as Andrea cried her heart out. She touched Andrea’s head and comforted her, "Don't be afraid. It's alright now. It's okay."
As she said that, she patted her back gently.
Andrea lifted her face and looked at Vickie with concern on her face. "Miss Vickie, who are they? Why did they kidnap us?"
Vickie's eyebrows furrowed, and after some pondering, she decided not to tell Andrea the truth so as not to scare her.
She merely explained softly, "They’re from another organization. They captured me because of some personal issues with me. You’re just someone they captured in passing, so if nothing happens, they won't do anything to you. Don't worry."
Andrea shook her head. "I'm not worried about myself. I'm just worried about you…”
Vickie laughed. "Silly girl. You don’t have to worry about me. Have you ever seen me suffer at the hands of anyone?"
Andrea thought about it and agreed. Finally, she also laughed openly. "Right! Miss Vickie, you’re the strongest person in the world! No one can fight you!"
Vickie nodded and reassured her, "So, if there's a chance for you to leave, you must go and not think about anything else. Understand?"
The smile on Andrea's face stiffened.
