After Gregory and Dan sat down, someone served tea.
Only after the tea was served did they respectfully retreat.
Dan was the first to pick up the cup, in which he then said to Gregory, "Boss Graham, long time no see."
Gregory narrowed his eyes as his body leaned languidly on the chair. He too raised his cup and tilted it slightly towards Dan before he said, "Mr. Thinple, you hid well. I thought you died in that fire four years ago, but here you are, still alive."
Dan laughed out loud. "It's fortunate that the heavens have shown mercy and allowed me to live on. Otherwise, how can I sit down with Boss Graham again today and have tea?"
Gregory's eyes were cold.
He said impatiently, "Cut the crap. Where’s Vick? For this peace talk to go on, you need to hand her over! Or else..."
Dan also narrowed his eyes and put down his cup.
"Or else what?"
Suddenly, the air froze.
The atmosphere was tense, like an arrow taut on a bow that was about to release.
Just like that, both of them stopped talking, and the escorts standing behind them secretly placed their hand on the bulge at their waist. They were waiting for their master to give the order so they could immediately take action to restrain the other party.
However, Dan laughed again suddenly.
That laughter, it was as if a long sword had sliced through the tension in the air.
He said with a smile, "I really didn't think that Boss Graham was still such a love-struck bastard. I thought that the relationship between you guys had been broken since the day you threw her into prison four years ago?"
Dan refilled his cup with tea and continued, "So you still hold her very dearly in your heart. It seems like we have been negligent all these years, deceived by you, that we kept her alive in prison for so long."
When he said the last sentence, his eyes suddenly grew fierce.
Gregory's face turned grim too and his dark eyes were as cold as two blocks of ice.
He said resolutely, "You’re not capable enough."
Dan raised his eyebrows.
As if he had thought of something, he laughed meaninglessly.
"You're right. With you guarding by her side, who can touch her?"
He paused, then said quietly, "I've already told you her whereabouts. We don't have her.
"If you don't believe me, you can do a massive search of all the Chinese Association’s territories to see if I'm lying to you.
"Then again, I admit that I did want to capture her, but I wanted her dead. Having her alive was useless to me, and even if I wanted to capture her back then, it was only because I saw your love for her and wanted to use her as a bargaining chip to threaten you.
"And now, look, we've both fought till this point. Does it make sense for me to hold onto her if she's really in my hands?"
As he said this, he held out his hands with his palms facing upward.
Gregory replied dourly, "But she was taken away by your people."
Dan nodded. "I admit that. But the person who took her away was Lucius. He and I aren't in charge of the same unit, so I really don't know anything about her whereabouts."
