“Seems like Gregory came prepared today. Very well. Come in, come in.”
He was escorted into the house.
After that, the maids brought tea in for them.
A charming voice was heard before they even sat down. “Do we have guests, Mr. Flinders?”
Yuliana walked down the stairs wearing a dark red Cheongsam.
She looked like she had just woken up with her hair all disheveled and her groggy expression.
When she saw who their guest was, she froze for a moment as her expression changed.
Shimon glanced at her meaningfully, then did the same to Gregory. He smiled. “Yuliana, Mr. Graham is here. Come and greet him.”
A smile tugged at the corners of Yuliana’s lips. She paused for a moment and forced herself to return to reality before walking over.
“You must be busy, Mr. Graham. What brings you here today?”
Her voice was empty and obviously sarcastic.
Gregory could not be bothered to reply to that. He just kept his eyes on Shimon and asked in a low voice, “I’m here today because I have something to ask you.”
Shimon raised an eyebrow and responded, “Well then, shoot.”
Gregory placed the document that he had on the table.
Shimon glanced at the documents, and the fingers wrapped around his cup froze. His eyes darkened.
Everything was laid out on the table and he could see its contents without picking the documents up.
There was information about three people, including details about their backgrounds, their biological history, and their most recent whereabouts.
The most important thing was that they all had one thing in common—They were all involved with Vickie’s disappearance.
Gregory continued seriously, “We’ve known each other for so many years, so I’ll cut to the chase. You know what’s between me and Vickie. You should also know that her disappearance this time is related to three people in the Flinders family. If Vickie is in their hands, I hope that you’ll give her back to me. I don’t wish for any conflict to arise from this.”
Shimon fell silent.
After a few seconds, he looked back at Gregory with a thin smile.
“Gregory, I know that Vickie’s disappearance has dealt you quite a blow. I’ve also heard of that incident with the Chinese Association. The only thing is…”
Shimon paused and smiled wider. “I’m a businessman. Miss Thomas is clearly your lover and a friend of mine as well. Why would I capture her when I gain nothing from it?
“Besides, the results of your investigations only prove that these three people were present in the area Vickie was last seen. You have no concrete evidence that they kidnapped Vickie.
“Here’s something you might not want to hear, but on the same day at the same time of the kidnapping, there were hundreds of other people within the vicinity as well. How can you be certain that it was my men who took her?”
The atmosphere fell a few degrees after he finished speaking.
It was so thick with tension that you could cut through it with a knife.
A moment passed and Gregory responded coldly, “So, you refuse to come clean?”
Shimon exclaimed exasperatedly, “It’s not that I’m not coming clean. If it was really me I would’ve already admitted it since you’ve come all the way here to confront me!
“Honestly, I really have no idea what’s happening. I never gave out such an order. Forgive me, but I am completely clueless as to where Miss Thomas could be.”
With that, he turned his head to the side and refused to look at Gregory.
His expression also turned icy.
Gregory nodded and stood up.
