“Did you just agree to marry me, Vick? Did you really agree?”
In her heart, Vickie was feeling very touched too.
Although the thorn was still in her heart since Gregory did not give her an answer, she did not regret the choice she made at that moment.
Flashbacks of the time the two of them had spent together hit her as if a movie had dashed through her mind.
She told herself to trust her feelings.
Life was short, so why waste it in pointless misunderstandings and separations?
Overjoyed, the couple embraced each other. On the other side, Nell and the onlookers looked quite emotional too.
Janet said excitedly, “She accepted, she accepted! Never in my whole life did I dream of being witness to such a touching scenario! ”
Nell let out a gentle smile. “Things will go well now since the two of them are getting married. The rest is up to you guys.”
As she said that, she turned and glanced at Massimo with her eyebrows raised.
His striking face blushed slightly as he let out a cough. “Soon, I will make the preparations immediately!”
The girls who were standing nearby instantly blushed.
This was a spectacle of a successful proposal and confession.
Nell looked at the couple who were wrapped up in a tight embrace. She suddenly felt that the short separation they had a few years back was not such a bad thing anymore.
Only through separation and loss would someone realize how precious it was to have one another.
She felt a warm, fuzzy feeling flutter on her fingertips as she turned and looked at Gideon whose face was bewitchingly gorgeous.
The man looked quite happy tonight. His cold face looked ever so gentle under the blazing light, with a rare glint of softness to it.
As he held her hand, he murmured, “I’m really happy, Nelly.”
Nell raised her eyebrows in confusion. “Why do you suddenly feel that way?”
Gideon turned around and looked at her, his eyes filled with joy.
“No, I’ve always had this feeling.”
“I have always felt so from the first day I met you.”
Nell’s heart leaped violently as soon as he said this.
It was as if she were going to burrow herself deep into those bottomless eyes.
At that moment, cheers and shrieks of joy suddenly arose from the crowd.
She raised her head and realized that Gregory had kissed Vickie.
Massimo and his friends let out a whistle. Seemingly shy by this, Vickie pushed Gregory away.
However, Gregory immediately swept Vickie off her feet in a quick embrace.
The crowd applauded and cheered, “Marry, marry, marry!”
Laying in his arms, Vickie covered her face in embarrassment. She could not stand them teasing her anymore and so, she cried out, “Guys, stop it!”
Gregory chuckled and played along with the flow. “Fine, we won’t talk about it anymore. Let’s get married next month!”
“Really?”
The announcement of their wedding was so sudden that the crowd did not know how to react to it.
Gregory nodded his head. “Yeah, we’ll invite all of you by then.”
Janet laughed and said, “We’ll definitely be there!”
The crowd made another commotion before leaving for supper. The liveliness of the feast lasted until 2:00 am.
By the time Nell got back to her room, she was already struggling to stay awake.
Partially asleep, she just wanted to lay on her bed and drift away to sleep.
Yet just as she was about to lay down, Gideon pulled her up.
“Go take a shower, darling.”
Nell waved her hand. “I’m not going to shower today, I just want to sleep.”
