Nell reached her hand out as she said so, and made a small step forwards.
The corner of Gideon’s lips turned upwards into a smile. Leaning against the door, he crossed his arms across his chest as he watched them play.
Somehow little Viemond did not make a single sound this time. Perhaps he had learned to be obedient or perhaps he was just following his big sister’s lead.
Nell followed could only use her instincts by feeling her way around. As she inspected, she stated probingly, “Where are both of you? The Cat is coming to get you, ready or not!”
The two children hid at the corner of the room. With her hand covering Little Viemond’s mouth, Lizzy held her laughter as she tried to sneak out of the room.
Gideon narrowed his eyes slightly.
Nell thought hard about where the children were hiding.
Just then her fingertips felt the hem of a shirt. Her eyes shone underneath the blindfold.
“Ha! I got you now!”
Tugging onto that piece of clothing, she reached out another hand and grabbed the person’s wrist.
She instantly realized that it wasn’t a child’s hand.
Just as she was wondering what was going on, that person grabbed her hand and she felt a tightness around her waist as she was yanked into that person’s arms.
Nell was shocked.
She immediately took off the blindfold on her head.
Light shone into her eyes as she pulled the blindfold down, and in front of her was the man’s strikingly warm face.
Lizzy cheered and applauded with joy. “Ooops, mommy’s got daddy, mommy’s got daddy!”
Little Viemond was confused. He did not understand why his mommy ended up in the arms of his daddy especially since she was supposed to find him and his big sister. He was even more puzzled by the fact that his mommy did not let go of his daddy.
Even so, since his sister was clapping her hands, he decided to play along as well.
He clapped his hands along with a silly smile plastered on his face.
Nell’s face flushed as she pushed him away. She muttered under her breath, “What are you doing, let me go!”
Nell knew that the man was up to some kind of mischief, so she glared at him. “Don’t do anything stupid, the kids are still around.”
Naturally, Gideon would not do anything dumb in front of the children.
It was just that the scenario warmed up his heart so much that it hit a soft spot.
He let go of Nell’s waist as he took the blindfolds from her hands.
“Is the loser supposed to be the Cat?”
Nell was still unsure of how to react when Lizzy replied, “Yeah! You got caught, so you should be the Cat!”
Gideon gave a deep smile. “Okay, I’ll be the Cat.”
He placed the blindfolds on his head as he said this.
Upon seeing this, Nell felt a gush of warm feeling sweep through her heart. She took a step back as she said, “Since you’re going to join us, don’t you play any dirty tricks.”
Following this, she went to hide as the children hid themselves too.
A family of four, spending time together in a serenade of joy and harmony.
At the same time another place…
In a faraway land at Lin City.
After Gregory sent Gideon and his friends off, he began to reorganize the security in the chateau. Although they had successfully eliminated the Chinese Association, some scattered bits and pieces of their influence still remained.
Realistically speaking, nobody would be working for a fallen organization anymore. Anyhow, it’s still better to be safe than sorry.
He was naturally not intimidated by anything when he used to be alone, but now that he had Vickie, he had to make the security of the chateau tighter for her.
