Vickie then frowned again and placed her hand over her forehead.
Gregory immediately placed his hand nervously over where she was covering, his voice even sounded tense.
“Are you alright? Is it a headache? Or you’re feeling uncomfortable anywhere else?
Vickie looked at him blankly.
After a moment, she shook her head. “No, it’s just that my temple cramped a little just now. It’s a little painful but I’m fine now.”
As she spoke, she turned her head and looked around her.
Vickie could see the room was filled with people. Everyone was actually still outside in the living room waiting, but once they found out she was awake, everyone rushed in. Everyone was afraid that it would be too noisy because she just woke up, so they held back and did not speak at all.
She looked at them blankly and asked, “What is going on with everyone? Why are you guys here? Why are you guys looking at me?”
Nell frowned. She did not know why, but she subconsciously felt there was something wrong with Vickie’s current condition.
As expected, Vickie looked down the next second and onto herself.
Her pupils then swiftly dilated.
“Eh? Why am I wearing a wedding dress? Gregory, our wedding outfits haven't arrived, isn’t it? You said the designer, Emily, had to change some measurements and can only send it over next week.”
Gregory’s expression changed.
His gaze immediately darkened.
The wedding dress’ change of measurement happened half a month ago. So, her memory went back to half a month ago?
His face stiffened, but surprisingly he did not tell Vickie the truth immediately. Instead, he gently stroked her face.
Gregory then instructed Mr. Osborne, “Take care of Missus.”
When he finished talking, he stood up and walked out.
The man’s footsteps were like a gust of wind, he was out of sight in an instant.
Vickie startled a little and looked at Mr. Osborne, then fixed her eyes onto Nell who was not too far away.
Her face was lightened.
“Nelly, why are you here too? And Gideon, didn’t you guys just return home? Why are both of you here again so soon? Our wedding isn’t happening yet. Did both of you come here in advance for a holiday or came here all the way just to see us?”
Everyone’s heart was heavy. Up till this moment, how could she not know what actually happened?
She… Actually lost her memory?
Nell’s fingers tensed up as she walked over.
She sat next to Vickie, gently smiled, and said, “Yes, we came for a holiday. We knew both you and Gregory were here, so we quickly came over to see you.”
As she spoke, she gently stroked Vickie’s hair and said with concern, “Do you feel discomfort anywhere? If you’re not feeling comfortable, make sure you tell us, okay?”
Even though Vickie had just woke up and was feeling dazed, she could feel something was not right.
Vickie lost her memory, but she was not stupid. She looked at Nell, then looked at everyone else’s concerned looks and frowns, she asked, “Did… Something bad happen to me?”
The next room.
Gregory stared coldly at the man sitting on the couch.
“Say, what is happening to her?”
Shimon’s face looked relaxed while sitting there and sipped on his tea without a sense of urgency.
After he finished a cup of tea, he lifted his head and looked at Gregory, then smiled gently.
“I’m willing to say, but would you believe it?”
Gregory furrowed his brows.
Shimon faintly said, “Her symptom isn’t memory loss. It is because of the brain shrinking causing short-term memory loss. As I said, she has a hereditary disease. The onset of this disease will occur suddenly when a person reaches a certain age. When it happens, every tissue and organ of the body starts degenerating at a speed ten or a hundred times faster. It can only be controlled by taking medication on time and temporarily stopping the progression of the disease. Her symptoms now are due to not taking the medication on time, which resulted in this residual effect.”
