”Since Jean was the one who picked it up, then we could take it back from her. Sean, please don’t start fights with other people. After all, she might be a nice person as she may be waiting for us to retrieve the jade pendant.”
Sean’s face began to gloom. “I don’t think that she is a good person at all. She probably wanted to keep the pendant for herself. If she wanted the owner to claim it, then she would have passed it to the boss over here. Why would she silently take it away?”
Cathy pouted. She then sighed.
“Don’t say it like that. The Leith family is a prestigious family that holds a lot of power. Miss Leith wouldn’t do something like that. If she refuses to give it back, then we could buy it from her. It’s no big deal.”
Sean did not say another word after listening to Cathy.
After a while, Mr. Donnelly returned.
As he entered the room, he displayed a cheerful smile on his face. “How is it? Did you find any clues?”
Cathy smiled. “Yes, we found some clues. However, we might need to ask for your help to contact someone.”
Mr. Donnelly raised his eyebrows in surprise. “Oh, you found it? Who picked it up?”
Cathy waited for a while before answering, “It was Miss Leith, the person who did business with you last time.”
As she said that, Mr. Donnelly was getting a cup of water in front of the water dispenser. He froze in shock as he heard what Cathy said.
He had only regained his senses right before the cup was about to overflow. He turned off the switch and walked towards Cathy with a cup in hand.
“Jean Leith? Are you sure?”
Cathy nodded her head as she turned the laptop screen in his direction. She replayed that section of the video to him once more.
Mr. Donnelly was speechless after watching the video.
He was at a loss for words. He then sighed.
“If it was another person, then I could have easily handled this case. However, regarding Miss Leith…”
He furrowed his eyebrows in distress. “I don’t even have Miss Leith's contact information.”
Cathy and Sean were surprised. “You don’t have her contact information? Didn’t she say that she was going to invest in your business last time? Didn’t she leave a phone number for you?”
Mr. Donnelly smiled. “She is a mistress from a wealthy family. Don’t take everything that she says seriously! She isn’t the head of the Leith family, after all. She couldn’t possibly have taken out one and a half billion dollars to do business with me. There is a high chance that she will call off the deal.”
He looked at Cathy and Sean as their eyes darkened. In the end, he felt sympathy towards them.
“How about this? You guys can wait for a few days to see if she’ll come back to look for me. If she isn’t planning to come back, then I will help you to get her contact information. Jean might be a stubborn person, but she will not give you too much trouble as long as your demands are reasonable.”
Sean and Cathy nodded their heads.
On one side, Cathy was looking for Jean.
On the other side, Nell was looking for Cathy.
From the moment Nell acquired the jade pendant, she realized that something was off.
When Cathy passed away, the only thing that she left behind for her daughter was a necklace. Shaun had already pawned off the other stuff from the Morrison family.
Due to Sylvia’s hatred towards Cathy, she had incinerated everything that Cathy had used before.
As such, a jade pendant like that should not be out there in the world.
Maybe they had tricked Nell from the beginning?
When they said that they were going to incinerate Cathy’s relics, did they sell them off instead?
Nell did not know the answer. However, she knew that she was going to get to the bottom of it.
