Stephanie was a bit surprised and said, "Teacher, is it that serious?"
Brook replied seriously, "It's even worse than you think! I'm just an acquaintance with her. Our relationship isn't that deep. When she got into trouble back then, everyone stayed away from her. There were only a few who dared to keep in touch with her, for fear of getting involved. I was able to maintain some contact with her privately, but I didn't dare to do it openly. So Stephanie, you still have a chance to back out now."
Stephanie shook her head with a bitter smile, "It’s okay, Teacher. I've already promised my teacher, and I won't regret it!"
Brook looked at her with mixed emotions, "The path of life is chosen by ourselves. I've already told you the pros and cons. Since you still insist on doing this, don't blame me later for not warning you."
Stephanie replied, "Don't worry, Teacher! You're the first person who taught me acting in my life, so you hold a special place in my heart. I respect you deeply. Even if I'll have a hard time later on, it's my own choice, and I have no reason to blame others."
Brook nodded, "You're a smart girl. I won't say anything more. You guys settle the issue about assistants on your own. How well you can get by in the future is all up to yourselves. There's only so much I can teach you."
Stephanie thanked him, "Thanks for worrying about us, Teacher."
Brook smiled lightly, "Go on, Gillian is waiting for you!"
Brook watched Stephanie leave with mixed feelings, as if he saw his younger self in her.
Back in the days, they were also full of longing for the future of the entertainment industry. But then they realized that in this circle, either you speak with strength, or you speak with connections. But no matter how strong you are, you can't defeat those who have powerful connections.
Those who make it to the end in showbiz are the low-key, powerful actors who know both how to act and how to get along well with others. And those who have strong connections that never collapse.
Connections, personality, plus one's own conditions and strength, all are indispensable.
If Stephanie and her friends really want to make it in this industry, they still have a long way to go.
As soon as Gillian saw Stephanie come out, she hurriedly walked over and grabbed her hand, "Steph, what did the teacher say to you?"
