"Oh my gosh, it's actually her teacher's former agent."
Stephanie didn't agree immediately but thought about Ashley's current situation. When Ashley was in trouble back then, her agent didn't get involved at all and was still thriving in the industry. That kind of person is quite scary. So, she had to ask Ashley first before making any decision.
"Um, Martin, let me go to the restroom first, and I'll answer you when I come back."
"Sure, Ms. Bishop, take your time."
Martin thought she was going to call the big boss, Sebastian, for permission, but he didn't receive any calls from Stephanie.
In the cafe restroom, Stephanie called Ashley.
Ashley was quite surprised she got a call from her so quickly.
After picking up the phone, she heard Stephanie say, "Teacher, do you remember what kind of person your former agent was?"
Ashley was stunned and asked, "Steph, why are you suddenly asking about this?"
"Well, someone arranged a meeting for me with her this afternoon. I heard she's a little weird and needs to meet with her potential clients first before deciding whether to take them on. I remembered she used to be your agent, so I thought maybe I should give you a heads up. Even though I don't know what happened to you in the past when you disappeared from the entertainment industry, she's still a big shot now. I'm worried she might not be reliable, so I wanted to consult with you."
Ashley bitterly smiled, "Steph, don't worry. She's more than reliable, and it was my fault for not listening to her advice at that time which led her to give up on me. But she is truly reliable. I'm the one who let her down!"
