Sebastian nodded, "Should I go first?"

"Silver Fox, can you hang with me and Emily for a bit?"

Sebastian twitched his lips, "I'm not so hot at babysitting."

Jeffrey, on the side, almost instinctively blurted out, "My kid is about the same age, how about I watch them for you?"

Stephanie promptly declined the offer, asserting, "There's no need to trouble Mr. Perez. Silver Fox, if you're not in the mood for babysitting, feel free to have a seat. I'll personally take Emily over there." Her words conveyed a sense of self-assurance and a willingness to take charge.

With that, she took Emily's hand and headed for the door.

Suddenly Emily shouted, "Daddy."

Jeffrey's face shifted slightly.

Sebastian frowned.

Stephanie nervously picked up Emily, "Emily, stop calling people randomly. Your daddy isn't here."

"Daddy from the picture. I have seen him."

Oh god!

Emily, stop causing a scene!

Running into Jeffrey is one thing, but not recognizing him isn't a big deal.

But she actually called him daddy. Now that's a real pickle!

If her mom finds out, she won't let Emily off the hook.

Thinking fast, Stephanie said, "Silver Fox, don't mind her. Emily always calls me mommy. She must have seen your photo on my phone and that's why she called you daddy."

This kid's got some serious fibbing skills.

Sebastian raised an eyebrow, "That's fine."

Worried that Emily might point at Jeffrey and say he was her dad, Stephanie chose to carry her and make a beeline for the playground.

Jeffrey's gaze followed them until they disappeared.

He couldn't help but feel a flicker of doubt in his eyes, "Is that kid President Ingram's?"

"No."

"She didn't call you daddy?"

"What, does Mr. Perez have a problem with it?"

"Huh. Why should I have a problem? It's not like the Ingram family doesn't have any illegitimate children."

Just as Ashley was about to speak, the man across from her suddenly said, "We ran into Jeffrey Perez at the entrance earlier."

Upon hearing those words, Ashley's complexion turned pale, a tremor of unease coursing through her. She anxiously surveyed her surroundings, dreading the possibility of catching sight of Jeffrey within her field of vision.

Seeing this, Sebastian casually said, "Relax, he's already left."

"Did you just meet him?" Ashley asked cautiously.

"Yep... he just left."

"So... did Steph just take Emily out and run into you guys?"

"We did. Emily even called him 'Daddy'."

Oh man.

This kid who's usually so scared of anything, has a tendency to shut herself away.

But when she actually ran into Jeffrey Perez, she didn't hold back, calling him 'Daddy' right away.

Ashley really didn't know what to say.
