Ashley pulled Emily into her arms, but didn't know how to comfort her... Tears were streaming down her face.
She brought Emily into this world, yet she couldn't give her a complete family. She could only hide with her in the house.
She owed her so much!
Picking up her phone, Stephanie grumbled, "Silver Fox... Rebecca's actions are insufferable!"
Sebastian's casual voice floated back, "Are you injured?"
"No... Fortunately, Silver Fox had someone on guard duty. I was scared witless, and Emily... She is weeping too..."
"I'll be there right away. Are Emily and Ms. Morris holding up?"
"They're both shedding bucketloads of tears..."
Overhearing, Ashley instantly checked her tears and murmured, "Steph..."
"Look at you! You’re supposed to be comforting Emily, but you're the one tearing up first."
"I can't help it. My heart aches for Emily..."
"Well, if you weep, Emily will worry about you. Look at her. Her eyes are quite puffed up..."
Ashley acquiesced, "Fine, I'll control myself... Thank you for coming over, President Ingram."
Sebastian, who had been initially anxious about his little girl, felt his concern ebbing away after their conversation.
In a crisis, the little girl proved to be remarkably composed.
"You go soothe Emily... I'll be there shortly."
"Silver Fox, have you eaten yet?"
"Just got home and had a bit..."
"Hey, how about we take Ms. Morris and Emily back to our place later? Their door's been kicked down by Rebecca's bodyguards... It's not safe for Ms. Morris and Emily to stay here."
