Spoiled by the Silver Fox novel Chapter 729

When Mr. Finnegan was a few drinks into the evening, Yolanda suddenly slid into the seat beside him, batting her eyelashes with a flirtatious smile. "Mr. Finnegan, aren't you going to invite me to join your new play? I just adore working on your productions."

Mr. Finnegan raised an eyebrow, "Inviting you isn't the issue, Yolanda, but the leading lady role is already spoken for."

Yolanda's smile never wavered, all charm and guile. "Mr. Finnegan, you've always appreciated my acting. Ms. Bishop might have powerful backers, but she's still a newbie in the entertainment world. Aren't you afraid she'll fall flat on her face? That's a long way to fall - it'd be a real shame to set her up like that."

Stephanie, who was within earshot, said nothing.

Serena and a few other actresses instinctively stepped back, giving them a wide berth.

Mr. Finnegan frowned, about to speak, when Gracie cut in with a scoff, "What are you talking about, Yolanda? If Stephanie isn't worried about the fall, she hardly needs your concern."

"Gracie, I thought you didn't approve of actresses climbing the ladder through their sugar daddies? Or is it that the previous ones weren't influential enough, and now you're okay with it? So much for your high and mighty act!"

Those words set Maximus's hair on fire.

Dammit, she was talking about his wife!

Already tipsy, Maximus glared at Yolanda, "Seems like you've had garlic for dinner, Yolanda, with a mouth so foul. Why don't you go brush your teeth and spare us the stench?"

Yolanda's face soured, "What's that supposed to mean, Maximus? Why lash out at me?"

"You can talk about anyone you want, but not my wife!"

"Your wife?"

"That's right, Gracie is my wife!"

Yolanda frowned, "Since when did you two become an item? I must've missed the memo."
