Chapter 1896
At that moment, Eira could not be more heartbroken. She had not worn a new pair of shoes in a few years, and that pair of shoes was given to her by her brother. Her brother had had his eyes on a family for a very long time, and once that family had thrown their trash out, her brother went to rummage through the trash and picked up a pair of slightly better shoes for her to wear, she had worn those shoes for two years. Her father did give her a thousand dollars every month, but that had to be used on food and drinks for the whole family. Her brother had to go to school, and her mother could not work, so they did not have any extra money to buy new shoes for her at all.
It was such a rare occasion that her dad had spoken for the first time to take her to buy extra shoes and clothes. In the end, her sister stepped on her shoes and dirited it. Eira was so heartbroken that tears came gushing down. 1
Delmont scolded Brooke. "Brooke, you've gone too far! "AD
Brooke glared angrily at her father. "Hmph! I hate you! You sided with an outsider! You're so nice to her! You even sided with her!"
After saying that, Brooke ran off. Behind her, Joy glared angrily at Delmont, then immediately followed Brooke out. "Brooke, Brooke!"
Delmont glanced at the salesperson, and then at Eira. He then instantly waved his hand and said, "Just these two will do. Leave the rest. There's no time today!"
After saying that, Delmont paid and then led Eira hurriedly out the store. He bought two sets of clothes and a pair of shoes for Eira. The clothes that Eira was wearing were already thrown away. She wanted to take them back as they could be used as an additional change of clothes after washing them at home, but her father pulled her away very quickly. Even when they had already been walking so quickly, Delmont still did not manage to catch up to Joy and Brooke.
The mother and daughter had long gone downstairs in an elevator. Delmont and Eira could only wait for the next elevator.
As they were waiting for the elevator, Delmont lowered his head and looked at Eira, who still had tears in her eyes. The way the little girl looked when she was crying was particularly heartbreaking.
Delmont felt a heart-wrenching feeling. He raised his big hands and wiped his daughter's tears. His actions instantly warmed Eira's heart.
"Dad, why don't you tell my sister that you're also my dad?" she asked timidly.
Delmont was speechless. He had no way to answer this question. After he and Joy got married, the two of them had worked together to build their business. Joy treated him extremely well and she had no other requests, she even reminded him when he was late to give money to Eira every month. However, Joy only had one request, which was to not tell Brooke that her father had an ex-wife and a child. Joy only hoped that their little family could be happy. She hoped that her child would be affected by his former family as her child was innocent, after all. This request was originally nothing to Delmont. After all, the chances of the two children meeting was very slim and was close to none.
