Chapter 1925
Before Brooke could react, Malvolio picked her up again. A knife was then placed against her neck.
"Don’t even say anything!" Malvolio looked at all three of them.
"No police! We absolutely won't call the police. I'm begging you to let the child go. She is innocent.
Alright?" asked Joy with a voice as soft as the buzzing of a mosquito.
"Don’t worry!" said Malvolio miserably. "I have a sister myself, of course, I know that the child is innocent. I just didn't want her to see a miserable scene. Listen up, you two. If you dare to move even a little, you will never be able to see your child again! Now, hand me your phones!" Malvolio did that in a calm and composed manner.
Both Delmont and Joy obediently tossed their phones to Malvolio. Malvolio then carried the child upstairs. He put Brooke in her own room and let her put on earplugs.
"Be good. Don’t take the earplugs off. otherwise, I will kill you!" said Malvolio.
After Malvolio let Brooke settle down, he turned around and walked out the door. He then saw the couple outside the door and both of them were each holding a kitchen knife in their hands.
"Why?" Malvolio sneered and asked, "Do you want to fight me? In front of your daughter? Fine, come on! Both of you against me alone!"
Joy was so scared that the knife in her hand instantly fell to the floor. Fortunately, the door was closed and Brooke had earplugs in her ears.
"You...what the hell do you want? You want money, don’t you? It's all yours. All the cash in my house, my gold and silver jewelry, and also all those watches in our collection are all yours. We'll give them all to you... no matter what, those are also worth millions. Just take your sister and mother and run off to somewhere far away, alright?" At that moment, Joy had regained her senses.
She could tell that Malvolio had no intention of harming the child. Malvolio just did not let the child be present. She felt that Malvolio was still a boy with conscience and limit, and if they could give Malvolio enough money at that moment, perhaps there could still be a glimpse of hope for them to live.
However, Malvolio shook his head. "No, it's too little."
"You...how much do you want?" When he heard Malvolio say that it was too little, Delmont instantly became excited. He felt that there must be a breakthrough, certainly. This boy has been poor for far too long. As long as he was given enough money to attract him, he certainly will let their family of three go.
"Tell me, what do you want? other than these gold and silver jewelry in the house, I also have made a regular deposit to the bank as saving for my daughter.
I have saved a million dollars there every year, and there should be almost ten million dollars now. I'll give them all to you. How about that?"
When he heard Delmont say that he had been saving a million dollars for Brooke every year, Malvolio became even more furious. He grabbed Delmont and put the knife against his throat. "You heartless thing! You have saved a million dollars every year for your youngest daughter, but you only gave your eldest daughter twelve thousand every year! Do people like you even deserve to live?"
"Don’t...don’t kill me. Don’t kill me." Delmont knelt on the floor.
