Chapter 2430
"If we were to compare the value of ten million dollars from thirty years ago to the value of the present day, it should be estimated to be more than one hundred million dollars," Vincent told his daughter, Yvonne, about his past that happened 30 years ago in his old voice.
That was a story in the past that had been sealed. Neither Vincent nor Helena was willing to mention it.
More than 30 years have passed, but there were still people who would maliciously dig out this past. Since it had been dug out, both Vincent and Helena had nothing to hide anymore.
"Dad, is it because of that woman, your ex-wife, Belinda, has gotten ten million dollars and you feel she should already be able to live comfortably, so you divorced her?" asked Yvonne.
Vincent shook his head. "No."
Yvonne was curious. "Then why?"
At that moment, her uncle, Wymond, interjected, "Yvonne, hear your father out."
Yvonne nodded and continued looking at her father.
Vincent started to recall the past again.
More than 30 years ago, when Belinda heard the father of the child, that 80-year-old man, left her and her child ten million dollars, she was crazily happy. After she was done feeling happy, the first thing she did was give Vincent a backhand slap.
Vincent was shocked. "W-Why did you slap me?"
Belinda sneered. "You're a terrible bully! You're incompetent, so you kept forcing your wife to go out and work tough jobs! I am truly extremely unlucky to have married a man like you! It's all good now. I am rich now. I can finally hold my head up high! I finally have assets that belong to me now!"
Seeing Belinda so smug, Vincent sneered. "You're a real psycho."
After saying that, he turned around and left. When he got to the door, he turned his head back and said to Belinda, "since you feel being married is unlucky, then let's get divorced now! Please return the indecent photos of my sister to me! From now on, we are square. You don't need a husband in name only anymore anyway."
"Dream on!" Belinda turned her head around and looked at Vincent while sneering.
She came to Vincent and grabbed his collar. "You have never loved me, Vincent! Do you know how great of a humiliation is that to me? You want a divorce? You want to marry Helena? I just deliberately won't do as you wish! I will not divorce you! Everyone in this city knows that the child I delivered is yours. The matter is covered up at college right now. If you want to finish your studies without a hitch, and if you dare to divorce me, I would spread the word to every corner of the city! I would also expose all of your sister's indecent photos!"
"You!" Vincent was so infuriated by that woman that he no longer had a temper anymore. He tried his best to hold back his fury and asked, "What the hell do you want?"
