“I think she’s getting obsessive.” Conrad stared at Esme. “She had always wanted you to be her daughter-
in–law.”
“You don’t have to be so angry. She’s not pregnant, right?”
“Even if she’s not pregnant, the drugs would hurt her body. If I wasn’t there today, with her personality, she would…” When Conrad thought of what could have happened, he couldn’t help but feel pain in his chest.
He couldn’t imagine just how much she would suffer when he was no longer by her side,
“Esme, don’t get in touch with my mom from now on.”
“But she’s your mom. How can I ignore her?” Esme instinctively reacted.
Conrad then looked at her with: suspicious eyes. “If something like this happens again, I will treat you as
an accomplice!”
Esme’s expression changed. “How can you say that to me? I wouldn’t even step on a fly! Why would you paint me to be so cruel?”
Conrad also realized that he was somewhat strange lately, but he didn’t want to think too deeply into it.
He turned around and headed out.
“You want to leave so soon? You’ve just arrived.”
Esme chased after him and grabbed his arm.
“My mom had always wanted to treat you to a meal at home. Now that you’re here, let’s have dinner.” Conrad stood still and remembered his promise to Echo earlier in her ward.

I had known that the ending would be like this , I would never had read this book. It didn’t have a right ending at all. Made no sense. Don’t waste your time....
Evil should never win and Lucifer has harmed far to many....
This should not end this way. Fia, rather than following Lucifer’s evil path should reflect and realize that she has always loved Conrad and he has always loved her. Their problems were due to the interference of others, Beryl, Esme etc . Since she is the only one that can approach Lucifer, she and Peter should cooperate with each other, kill Lucifer and evil Beryl, Peter can remove the toxins/ poison from everyone and each will be able to live normal lives without interfering with others relationship's. The children deserve their real father who will love them dearly and provide and protect them with the life they deserve. Gia has been a fool since the beginning and has believed everyone but her beloved husband. Please end this on a good note, that is why we all read these stories, everyone loves a happy ending....
