Fia smiled and said frankly, “I’m not angry. I simply feel sorry for her. I’m not her enemy. There’s no need for her to say something like that to me with an ulterior motive.”

Barbara walked out of the ward with Britney. When she saw Conrad standing at the end of the walkway, she walked over with her sister.
“Mr. Maxwell.”
Conrad turned around and nodded calmly. “You’re done.”
“Yes,” Barbara said with some hesitation. When she saw that Conrad was leaving, she quickly asked, “How’s everything at the Foreign Affairs Department?”
Conrad looked at her for a second and said, “After you left, everyone’s been quite busy. But they’ve got the hang of it now.”
Barbara bit her lips. “That’s great.”
Conrad then asked, “What are your plans from now on?”
“I haven’t thought about working for anyone yet,” Barabara said as she held her sister’s hand tightly.
As she had worked a long time for the company, he said, “If you want to return to Maxwell Corporation, my door is always open for you.”
When Barbara heard that, hope began to rise in her heart again.
“Mr. Maxwell, I have some private matters that I need your help with.”
Britney didn’t believe Conrad, so she pulled Barbara’s hand.
“I want to go to the washroom. We’ll visit Mrs. Maxwell again next time.”
“Sure.” Barbara could tell what she was trying to say and gave up.

I had known that the ending would be like this , I would never had read this book. It didn’t have a right ending at all. Made no sense. Don’t waste your time....
Evil should never win and Lucifer has harmed far to many....
This should not end this way. Fia, rather than following Lucifer’s evil path should reflect and realize that she has always loved Conrad and he has always loved her. Their problems were due to the interference of others, Beryl, Esme etc . Since she is the only one that can approach Lucifer, she and Peter should cooperate with each other, kill Lucifer and evil Beryl, Peter can remove the toxins/ poison from everyone and each will be able to live normal lives without interfering with others relationship's. The children deserve their real father who will love them dearly and provide and protect them with the life they deserve. Gia has been a fool since the beginning and has believed everyone but her beloved husband. Please end this on a good note, that is why we all read these stories, everyone loves a happy ending....
