Chapter 778 Set up a wonderful show
Inside the coffee shop, August stared at Currer indifferently.
August's face was devoid of the slightest emotion, while Currer appeared rather stirred and bowed her head, flushing.
Although there was a little friction between her and August, it was all caused by Lucia, which didn't affect her fancy toward August at all.
She had genuine feelings for August, ever since she was a child. Even when she first saw him, she decided that she must be with August.
After leaving Griffith Organization, she experienced many blows. She was much less sharp and vigorous but developed more coquetry and tenderness of a little woman.
Seeing the man who had appeared countless times in her dream again, Currer's heart was about to fly out of her throat. She struggled to remind herself that she must be reserved.
This was the first meeting between the two after Currer left Griffith Organization. She tried her best to make a good impression in August. She chose a skirt with gentle color today and wanted to give August a brand-new self.
"August, when I was in Griffith Organization before, we didn't have many opportunities to meet each other. Now I have returned to my normal life, and we can meet frequently afterward." She glanced stealthily at August, and her cheeks flushed more and more visibly.
August’s eyes swept across her coldly, leaving nothing but alienation in his voice. "No need. We don't know each other well. All that you should do is to stay away from Lucia.”
August’s words poured down like a pot of cold water, which suddenly extinguished all her shyness and enthusiasm.
She was seized with surprise and looked at August in disbelief. A bitter smile gradually crept on her face, "If I say that I didn't do anything to Lucia, will you still not believe me?"
"I only believe in my own eyes." He responded with an awe-inspiring face.
Currer looked out of the window from time to time. Her tone was full of grievances, "Does it have to be like this between us? I admit that I made mistakes before, but I also got my due punishment. I now sincerely give my best wishes to Lucia and you.
While she was speaking, there was a sudden flash of cold light in Currer's eyes. Out of the corners of her eyes, Currer caught a glimpse of a beautiful figure showing up across the road.
After seeing the window of the coffee shop, the figure suddenly stopped and seemed to have no intention of coming forward.
In front of Currer, August’s eyes glanced coldly at her, spacing the words for emphasis to remind her, "We don't need your wishes. If you don’t want to disappear and stay out of Lucia’s world, I'll help you!"
"August...” Currer's eyes turned red instantly. She wrung her fingers tightly, choking while saying, "Lucia doesn’t necessarily blame me. Why do you keep clinging to the past?"
Hearing this, August got up gracefully. With his eyes full of warning, he said, "We can stop here today. I hope I won't see you again"
Currer followed August’s movements and threw herself with open arms into August's arms just as August was about to turn around.
Her face was full of reluctance as she eagerly inhaled the scent of August.
"I will do whatever you say," Currer broke out in a loud cry, tears streaming down like beads off a broken thread, "I'll secretly send Lucia and you my best wishes while staying completely out of your life"
August’s eyes were getting colder and colder. But before he could reach out to push her away, she had let him go wisely. She didn't hide the sadness in her grieved eyes, "I promise I won't disturb your life. You can go back now."
August's face once again returned to its previous indifference. He strode out of the coffee shop. His eyes swept across the road and caught a glimpse of the familiar slender figure hiding behind the tree, but acted as if he didn’t see her.
The phone indicator light flickered. When the screen lit up, August saw a message from Timothy, "Mom is out. Her destination is the same as yours. It’s probably schemed by Aunt Sullen."
