Chapter 804 No Need to Hurry
It was quiet in the ward. No one had expected Daryl to reject Paul.
After a long time, Paul came to his senses and said, the hand holding the wooden box trembling slightly, "Daryl, if you're angry with me because of what happened before, I apologize. Please give me another chance."
"I didn't want to marry you," Daryl said faintly, "I just wanted to conquer a man who didn't love me. I got what I wanted. I don’t need you anymore."
Paula stepped forward and tried to hold her hand, but she dodged coldly.
"Daryl..." Paula was completely stunned. He couldn't believe that this kind woman had been pretending to be gentle to conquer them just for a temporary pleasure
Daryl looked at him with disgust. "Don't call me that. You make me sick!" Before Paula could say anything, she added, I almost got killed playing this boring game with you guys. I quit. Get out. I need rest." Then she got under the covers, revealing only her back.
"Daryl, how can you say that?" Paula stared angrily at Daryl's thin back.
"That's enough, Paula," Paul said in a tired, disappointed voice. "In that case, we should let Ms. Davenport rest. Let's go."
"Paul!" Paula tried to say something else, but Paul turned to leave. She could only stomp her foot angrily and follow him out.
Lucia sensed that Daryl was rejecting them at this point. She couldn't help but sigh. "Ms. Davenport, get some rest. I'll come back tomorrow."
"No need. You'll bring me bad memories," Daryl said coldly under the covers. "I'm not your replacement. I never want to see you again."
Noticing Lucia's pale face, August glanced at Daryl and took Lucia's cold hand. "Let's go."
Lucia nodded in a trance and didn't mumble until the car was moving fast, "I don't believe Daryl is that kind of person."
"What kind of person?"
Lucia pursed her lips and glanced at August to make sure he was calm before adding, "Cruel and flighty."
August turned the wheel and said in a low voice, You're a bad judge of character, but you're right this time/
Lucia’s eyes lit up and August added, "If she had meant what she just said, she wouldn't have had to get under the covers. She was just covering."
"You mean she wasn't really trying to reject Paul?"
