Chapter 915 We Can Take You Away

Lucia coughed several times and then walked in with Ryan after dust dispersed. The old wooden floor which had been left in disrepair creaked as soon as they stepped on it. Ryan seemed to know the way around the place. He quickened his pace to the fireplace in the middle of the living room, and pointed to the dusty old carpet on the floor, gesturing for the others to move it. Lying prone on the ground, Ryan hit the floor and then ripped open a wooden floor. A mechanism inside appeared at this time. With a gentle pull, a large piece of the floor was lifted and a long staircase with no end appeared.

There was even a tunnel here. "Does it lead to the outside?" Lucia asked. Ryan moved his lips to utter a few indistinct syllables after a nod and wanted to say something more, but Lucia had got his point. He meant it was safe for them to go through the tunnel. Lucia cast a glance at Ryan and was hesitating to say something when they were about to go through the tunnel. In the end, she said it out to Ryan, "We can take you away." They could do nothing if Ryan didn't wanna leave with them.

Thinking for a moment, Lucia added, “Feel free to come to us if you wanna leave this place." Lucia wrote an address to Ryan, saying, "But you need to make up your mind as soon as you can, as we're gonna leave here." Ryan nodded. Lucia squatted down and touched the head of Poch which had got injured while asking them to be more careful. Then she held the hand of August and went into the tunnel with Daryl. Ryan closed the door of the tunnel silently when the three of them had walked in the tunnel. It was dark in the tunnel as there was no lighting. Adapting the darkness after a while, Lucia looked back at the entrance of the tunnel and heaved a sigh, "Let's go."

August put his arm around Lucia's shoulder to comfort her, "Now that he decided to stay here, it must be that he still has something to deal with in this place. He can live here in the Smith Manor for so long, which means he's useful to Marlena. So, he'll be safe." Lucia still felt a bit sad, but she walked along the tunnel with August after a nod. None of them knew how long the tunnel was. They had been walking for a long period but still couldn't see the exit.

A faint light finally appeared in front of them after a while. Lucia was kinda excited, 'That seems to be the exit." They all quickened their pace. August went to check around when they arrived at the exit. He pulled Lucia and Daryl out of the tunnel after making sure that everything was fine. Casting a glance around the barren area, August said to them, "We're safe." Heaving a long sigh of relief, Lucia finally got relieved and fell to the ground all of a sudden. Daryl also sat down and gulped for the fresh air.

After a few minutes of rest, Lucia finally came to her senses. Looking at the exit of the tunnel, she muttered, "Ryan..." She still worried about him so much though Ryan wanted to stay here. He was such a young boy but had to struggle to survive in a place like the Smith Manor. Daryl also felt sorry for that, and then patted Lucia on her shoulder. A strange sound suddenly came from the exit of the tunnel as the three of them were being silent.
