After a busy day, Pearl was exhausted. She almost fell asleep in the car.

The servants grinned. “Thank you, Miss Pearl.”

Emily was in her forties. Dressed professionally in a suit, Emily looked meticulous and competent. She reported, “Miss Tina is still locked in her room.”

Tina had kicked a fuss today, as Pearl had anticipated. Emily dealt with Tinal according to Pearl’s instructions.

“Alright.” Pearl was calm. “Bring up the leftovers. I’ll check on her.” She sneered and thought, ‘Tina, you deserve this.”

The guest room was locked from the outside. Emily opened it while carrying a tray of food that looked indiscernible. Pearl took the tray. “You can go.”
