With a raised eyebrow, Charlie tilted his head towards her. "Do you really think I would lose?"
"Of course not," she retorted. "You wouldn't have accepted the challenge if you didn't have some skills."
Nancy's amber eyes sparkled as she continued, "I guess I stole your thunder last time. You didn't even show your full potential. I wonder who is the real deal, you or me. How about... we find a chance to spar?"
"You?” Charlie shook his head with a mischievous grin, “I don’t play games with women.”
Nancy's rosy lips pouted instantly, and she huffed, " You look down on women!"
Charlie was caught off guard. He didn't mean to belittle women, let alone Nancy. He simply believed he had an upper hand in a competitive match against a woman.
But given Nancy's infuriated look, he had to reconsider.
After a thoughtful pause, a devilish smirk flashed across his face, "Alright. But you know, there’s no fun in a game without stakes."
"Oh, definitely!" Nancy's foxy tail twitched up in excitement, swaying with pride. "If I win, you will owe me a hundred grand. If I lose, I will give you the same."
Charlie was aware Nancy was strapped for cash. She needed the money to pay for her father's medical bills and her brother's tuition. He couldn't take her money.
He pursed his lips, a hint of understanding in his expression, “If you win, I’ll give you the hundred grand, no problem. But if you lose, you don’t have to pay me. Instead, you will fulfill a request of mine.”
A request?
The stakes had taken an interesting turn.
Her lips puckering in contemplation, Nancy was not a fool, despite her impulsive nature when it came to her father. Alarms were going off in her head, and her amber eyes narrowed, "What kind of request? Can you be more specific?"
