Nancy awkwardly smiled and picked up the folder and bank card. She got up and turned to leave.
Charlie seemed to anticipate her intention to leave and suddenly grabbed her wrist.
Nancy looked back at him in frustration, "Charlie, even though I agreed to become Mrs. Firth, we agreed to start from next month, right? Why are you grabbing my wrist now?"
As if reading Charlie's thoughts, she quickly covered her chest with her other arm. "Listen, I have principles. We agreed that it would start next month!"
Charlie shook his head helplessly. "Nan, am I that impatient? What kind of person am I in your heart?"
"Well..."
Nancy certainly wouldn't tell him that in her heart, he was a wealthy and powerful man that she would never let go!
She relaxed and a sweet smile appeared on her face. Blinking at him, Nancy asked cheerfully, "So, what else do you need?"
"Sit down."
Charlie released her and patted the couch next to him.
Nancy tightly held onto her folder and sat down beside him. "What do you want to say?"
Charlie's expression instantly grew serious. "Nan, I know Lily is your biological mother. Regardless of how she treated you, she is still your mother. You can't cut off contact with her."
