Alex found it hard to believe. “Who set her up?”

Alex let out a long sigh. “We had an argument. It just so happened that I had been discussing a project from abroad at work during those few days. I was away on a business trip for a week, and when I got back, I saw the letter she left for me. She said something about how she fell in love with another man, how we shouldn’t be together, and how our meeting was a mistake. She even told me not to look for her. I was so furious then, feeling that she had betrayed me. But secretly, I searched for her for a long time. However, I was unable to find her.”
