Mia glanced over at her husband, Andre, who looked like he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. “I really don’t have time for this,” he muttered.
“But it’s from the Collins family head himself…”
Just then, a servant from the Cedillo family showed up at their door. “Mr. Butler, no matter where you’re from, please don’t disturb our master and madam while they’re resting. Kindly leave.”
Once the door closed, everything went silent.
Curious, Mia turned to Andre, “Babe, that name rings a bell. Who are they? Are the Four Great Families really that big a deal? If you've got obligations, don’t worry about us. You should go, business comes first.”
Andre gave her nose a playful tweak. “I took this time off just to be with you. You’re my main priority.”
Mia blushed and snuggled into his arms. “Getting all romantic out of nowhere, you’re making me blush.”
Andre chuckled, wrapping her in a warm embrace, “Maybe I should say it more often. How about ‘I love you’?”
“Hey, let’s make a deal,” Mia suggested, her eyes sparkling with a sudden idea.
Andre raised an eyebrow with a smile, “What kind of deal?”
“Every time one of us says ‘I love you,’ the other has to say ‘I love you too.’ If you don’t reply, it means you don’t love me. No excuses, okay, honey?”
Andre felt this might not be the best idea, but he knew if he turned her down, his Mia would probably tease him with, “Oh, you don’t love me anymore.”
Before he could respond, Mia stood on her tiptoes and kissed him sweetly. “Come on, honey, how about it? I love you, and I want some romance.”
Reluctantly but with a smile, Andre stepped right into the little trap she’d set, “Alright. I love you too.”
