"What are you two up to over here?" Jade called out as she walked by. That voice was unmistakable, it sounded so much like her niece. She got closer and, sure enough, there were her niece and nephew.
Before they could explain, Molly, the novel lover, had already spun a dramatic scene in her mind. "Leo, I didn't peg you as this kind of guy. Seeing Anya all dolled up today, you pulled her aside for a sneaky kiss. If you're a man, do what a man's gotta do! Later, grab that bouquet and kiss Anya in front of everyone. Sneaking around like this, people might think you're having an affair."
Leo shot back, "We've all got brains, but how come yours is a rainbow of colors?"
Molly smirked, "Better to have a colorful mind than a one-track mind like yours."
They didn't need to spell it out; they all understood. Molly was teasing Leo about having a one-track mind.
Innocent Anya finally caught on, "Auntie, it's not what you think. Chad was just helping me with my dress."
Molly: "..." Oops, did I get that wrong?
Leo patted Anya's shoulder and suggested she head to the makeup room. Once it was just him and his aunt, Leo said, "Even if I did pull my girlfriend into a corner for a kiss, that's our business. Better than some people sneaking kisses with their Chad when he's asleep."
Molly: "...Leo! Just because you’ve got ten fingers doesn’t mean you can meddle in my little secrets!"
Molly had originally set out to find the bride, but along the way, she ended up in a playful spat with her nephew. As they bantered back and forth, some folks thought they were having a real argument and were about to step in when Chad waved them off, "It's okay, they're close. It's just aunt and nephew stuff."
After their friendly bickering, Leo asked, "Where's your son?"
Molly blurted out, "Why ask me? Don’t you have a tracker?"
Leo nodded, amused, "Thanks for the reminder."
Seconds later, Andre shouted, "Henry, get over here!"
Seeing the two kids sprawled on the lawn, the household staff, fortunately, had been vigilant. When mischievous Henry showed up, they sprang into action, looking after the kids.
Mia scooped up Asher, and Andre grabbed Henry, "Why did you take your brother outside?"
"Dad, he wanted to play with the skateboard!"
Andre gently explained, "Your brother's too little for skateboards. When he's as big as you, then he can join in."
But Asher's eyes were fixed on Henry's skateboard, hardly interested in his bottle.
