Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1467

Andre spotted the phone on the nightstand. As he bent over to turn off the alarm, Mia looped an arm around his neck, rubbed her eyes with the other hand, and turned her head—she was awake.

Still half-asleep and cozy as a kitten, she yawned, her voice all soft and dreamy. “Babe… is Naomi back yet?”

Andre silenced the alarm, scooped Mia into his arms, and carried her out of the nursery. “She’ll be home soon. Be good, go back to sleep.”

Mia had only set the alarm to check the time, open the bedroom door, and make sure Naomi and Mrs. Calder could peek in on the kids.

Once they got back to the master bedroom, Andre tucked her in. Mia hugged her pillow, ready to drift off again, when suddenly her eyes flew open and she sat bolt upright.

Andre could see that the realization had hit her.

And right then, Naomi and Mrs. Calder walked in the front door.

Mia and Andre hurried out to greet them.

“Naomi!” Mia called, rushing barefoot down the stairs, practically floating.

Andre winced, worried she might slip—he’d forgotten to bring her slippers from beside the crib, so now she was padding around with bare feet.

He slipped into the nursery, grabbed her slippers, and trailed after her downstairs.

Naomi opened her arms wide for a hug. “I’m back! Watching the kids at home must’ve been tough, huh?”

“Not at all!” Mia shot back, grinning from ear to ear.

Naomi glanced at her feet. “Where are your slippers?”

Bruce couldn’t resist a joke. “The kids were so excited to see you, Mia wore out her happy shoes waiting.”

Mia puffed her cheeks. “I just missed you so much, Naomi.”

Andre came down, knelt, and set Mia’s slippers by her feet. “Now we know why Henry loves going barefoot—he takes after his mom.”

Naomi cracked up. Of course, Henry was just like his mama.

Naturally, everyone made a beeline for the nursery to check on the kids.
