"Just to correct you, you grew up in the school of hard knocks and we were raised in a greenhouse."
Right now, Leo felt like he'd been left out in the cold by his family.
As dusk fell, Andre came home. His lovely wife Mia complained, "Honey, I was playing chess with Leo, he didn't go easy on me and I lost."
His father, Hansen was also grumbling, "Andre, Leo didn't let me win either, I lost too."
Molly was laughing her ass off on the couch. How could they have the nerve to complain just because they lost a game of chess?
In Andre's home, he never judged right from wrong. He only played favorites. "So what should I do, should I give Leo a good talking-to?"
Mia nodded, "Give him a kick."
Hansen raised his hand: "I second that."
Leo: "Andre, you were the one who taught me chess when I was a kid."
Mia instantly turned to look at Andre.
But Andre said, "I taught you chess to beat others, not to beat Mia."
Leo deflated, "You guys outnumber me, I'm not going to argue with you."
After all, if it really came to a fight, he wouldn't stand a chance on his own. He headed into the dining room.
Soon, Bruce also came home. The Cedillo clan was reunited once again.
At the dinner table, Bruce brought up Andre's handling of the Marshal family.
"Andre, the Marshal Group can't go bankrupt. You need to keep the situation in check, give Chad some time to handle the case, and know when to draw the line. If the Marshal Group goes bankrupt, over a thousand employees will face unemployment. A high unemployment rate may trigger a butterfly effect. Not only will Havenbrook's development be restricted, but the crime rate will also increase."
Andre was dealing with the Marshal family again? Mia instantly turned to look at Andre.
Chad's name was mentioned? Molly turned to look at Bruce.
Andre replied, "I've got it under control." He didn't mention anything else.
Bruce wanted to continue discussing business, but Andre immediately put a stop to it, "Let's talk business later in the study. Keep the dinner table for some family chit-chat. There are kids present."
After saying that, Andre glanced at the three children in the house who were listening attentively.
Bruce glanced at his three grown-up kids, and remembering what they had gone through, he immediately understood Andre's intentions.
Mia's intuition told her: Andre was keeping her at arm's length.
After dinner, Bruce and Andre went to the study to talk about business.
The three best friends got together. Mia said with a smug look, "You guys heard what happened at the dinner table just now, right? They're all avoiding us. They're scared of us three."
Molly said, "Too bad Andre's too clever. If he hadn't reminded Bruce, Bruce would have spilled the beans at the dinner table. I'm still wondering what case Chad is working on."
Leo looked Mia up and down, "Mia, why don't you go and find out?"
"Why should I go and find out, why don't you?"
